Yorkie part parrot? Does anyone's yorkie perch on their shoulder? I'll be watching TV or reading when my Dunkin crawls up the arm of the couch and snuggles right on my shoulder. He's a little guy, so it works, but I'm wondering if other yorkies make themselves comfortable sitting on their mom's shoulders like a little parakeet. :D Sometimes he falls alseep there too. |
Ha! Reesie will (ahem) try to hump my slipper while watching TV and then jump up on the back of the couch, run over onto my shoulder and give me kisses, rinse, repeat several times! |
Yes! Whenever I'm driving Jimi always tries to perch on my shoulder. I think he just wants to see out the window. :) So now we have to keep him in his kennel when we're in the car lol. |
My yorkies dont do it but My calico kitten does its cute! |

My Jack always perches on my shoulder. When ever we are in the car he has to sit on my shoulder or he will wine the whole time. |
Yorkie Part Parrot Baxter jumps from the back of the couch or from my lap and jumps on my shoulders, neck or anywhere he wants. When he weighed 3 pounds it was cute but now at also 7 pounds not so cute, especially when he does this to my 87 year old Mother. |
Nicky does the same thing!! I asked him the other night if he was a parot in a former life, he tilted his head at me lol:D Quote:

Scarlett is part parrot! And, I'm her pirate---she perches on my shoulder all of the time!! It's hard now that she has grown up! |

My Bailey has to be on my shoulder while driving, she will climb up on the back of the couch and onto my shoulder while I am watching tv or on the computer. If I am eating any thing she will be on my shoulder and put her mouth right beside mine and open it to hope i will put it in her mouth instead of mine. She is a mess lol:) |
my axle thinks he is a cat he he! he loves to curl up around my neck funny! he loves to put his head under my shirt...don't know what he is digging for haha! he is so cute loves to cuddle and give kissies.... We also have an african grey in the big cage in the livingroom, axle is now almost 4 months old and just discovered the bird too funny, first he barked now he sits at the bottem of the cage and whines. of course the bird teases the dog and say come here, come here! |

Captain Jack Sparrow loves to sit on my husband's shoulder while he is watching TV. I guess his name definitely fits him. |
Yes-one of mine occasionally does the same thing. He's also little. I think he does it in part to have some close one-on-one time with me away from his big brother. :) |
Bella likes to crawl up and sleep on my neck. I think it keeps her warm. :) |
Chloe used to sit on my shoulders while driving until she got too big, now Fiona does it :) They both like to sit on my shoulders on the couch, but it's first come first serve :) |

Brooklynn does this sometimes, the other thing she will do is sit on my uhem Chest with her back end in my face. Or, she likes to lay on me, like she is my scarf. Its funny the things they do! :) |
Hah, yes, Galahad does this all the time! It doesn't matter where I'm sitting, he'll come perch on my shoulder for a few minutes, sometimes longer. When I'm at the computer, if he's not tired and laying in his bed under the desk, he'll whine at me to pick him up. Once I do, he climbs up my chest onto my shoulder and just sits there, watching the screen and occasionally licks my ear or hair. He'll perch on my shoulder and watch TV in the evenings too. It's cute, but it can be annoying when he's got the wiggles haha. |
Gypsy prefers my lap, but my boston terrier does this. Much rather it be Gypsy as she is 5.5 lbs and Sophie is about 10 lbs and growing. |
I wasnt going to reply since so many have already confirmed that perching is a normal yorkie thing to do, but I thought it ironic that my female Yorkie is on my shoulder now as I type. She loves it up there, and she is quite the athelete, and very persistant if I don't let her up. My previous male (now passed away) would insist on sitting on my shoulder in the car, yes, he should have been in a car seat but put up such a fuss I would not always deal with it. My other yorkies does not even like to sit on my lap unless he's exhausted. So all are different. Ms Daisy really like the view from the top!:) |
Another thing my little guy will do is hop on my back and try to get comfy when I'm doing pilates, push ups or other miscellaneous exercises. I'll just take it all as a sign of his love! But he amazes me everyday with his antics :D |
