Hello all,

I will be getting a Yorkie pup at the end of November and am very excited. I've never owned a dog so small. My previous dogs were much bigger, so this breed is new for me. Any suggestions would be a big help for me. I hear that they are really intelligent dogs.

Welcome to the wild, wonderful world of Yorkies and YT. You won't regret it. Well, at least not once the house-training is over with.

Yeah, cruise some of the forums and look for topics that interest you. If you have any specific questions, post them and sit back for some great advice.

New Member Intro
 
Good evening,

We are also new to the Yorkie breed and to this forum. We welcomed Peewee and Benji into our family on Sept 30 (last Thursday). Peewee and Benji are the greatest lil furballs. In this short amount of time we have all grown very close. They are very intelligent and protective. Sometimes I think they believe they are much larger than they actually are.

They were born on July 13. They are brothers; however; there is a significant difference in their size. At their 12wk checkup Benji weighed 5lb 10oz and Peewee weighed just 2lb 13oz.

I started crate training them on Monday and I guess you can say it is coming along. I have never crate trained a puppy before; however, there is a wealth of information in the web on this topic; some better than others.

I look forward to meeting all of you and chatting about my babies. once developed, I will post their pics.

Welcome to Yorkietalk and congratulations on your new yorkie boys, I bet they are so adorable and have you wrapped around their little paws already ;)

It will be interesting to watch them grow. When I 1st brought Missy home she weighed 2lbs and her sister was 2.3 .. they are now both a year and her sister is between 3.8-4lbs and Missy is 5lbs.

Welcome to YT. I have no Yorkies, but I am grandma to my daughter's 5. (And another we are "baby-sitting" at the moment). You will find there is a lot of good information here. If you have questions, just ask and someone will be able to help.

Welcome to YT! From now until you get your pup will be the LONGEST days of your life :D You will find great advice here and another thing you can do is pick up a book. I bought Yorkies for Dummies and it has great info.

Please tell us a little more about your pup if you can...do you have any pics yet?

Welcome to YorkieTalk......I am a newbie to the group also.I live in NYC and I have one yorkie who just celebrated his first birthday Sept.26th and I also I have 2 boxers.
Good luck when you get your new puppy............they are so much fun and yes they are very smart :D
