Can not believe these people...:thumbdown:mad:In my local paper today there is an add for 6 week old yorkie puppies!!!!! Says they have had thier first shots and asking $400 for males (3) and $500 for female (1)!! Can you believe anyone would sell yorkies at 6 weeks of age? I tried to call but did not get an answer. I am hoping when I call they will tell me that they are going to hold them until they are older, but I am not counting on that!!! That is why I do not buy my yorkies locally!! Most, not all, are BYB and do not get them tested and sell them WAY too young. Just wanted to get this off of my chest, so dissappointed in these people!!! |
Alot of the local breeders here sell them too young also |
Yes, I see that a lot where I live too. :( I guess it may be everywhere. |
it is just so sad!!!! These babies are no where near ready to leave their mom!!! I guess it is every where, but it is also why I will only buy from reputable breeders and why I look on YT for my babies. I just don't trust alot of the breeders from around here. |
Oh my...6 weeks?! :( Hopefully, they won't them go until much older!! I didn't even list S'mores for sale until 12 weeks and even then he seemed so young to me (of course, I used any excuse to keep him longer). I feel so sad for puppies that are sold too young! |
That is so sad, and you know they are going to have problems. Next week some newbies will be on here telling of the problems they are having with their 6 week old puppy. I wish there was some way that we could get to people before they buy. |
yes like the one that posted yesterday that they had found their little one at southernstarkennels in Jackson,Tn the baby weighs .8 can you imagine selling a 1/2 lb pup |

the thread is in the wanted section (wanted male yorkie puppy for Christmas in Ky) |
It's things like this that show that money is the root of all evil. I'm buying my baby from a breeder in Texas (I live in Las Vegas) and I've had a deposit on her for a month now, as the breeder won't let her go until she's 16 weeks... and I think that's great! I want her so bad but I will wait however long it takes if it ensures that my puppy is happy and healthy! |
Most reputable breeders will keep a puppy until they are 2 pounds. That's why so many tinies don't go to their new homes until later than 12 weeks. You are so right about most local breeders being backyard breeders. Unless you are one of the lucky ones to have a reputable breeder closeby, you should expect to have a long drive or even have your puppy shipped. There are people who will carry a puppy in the cabin to you for a fee which is much better than flying in cargo. |
