This is too funny! I was the same way when I was a teenager and younger adult, I used to think it's just a dog it can walk.... Then I got my first yorkie last year, oh how my eyes have opened! Just a dog no more! I call her my fourth daughter (the other 3 are human) she is my baby and I too get the sweaters and all the extra stuff too, my girls love her and my husband who is Mr.anti animal LOVES her and is always petting her and talking to her, so they can change EVERYONE! Congrats on your new baby and I am glad she is filling that place in your heart that you need her to.

I loved reading your post and I have to say I agree with all of it. I adopted my London from the Humane Society who had rescued her from a puppy mill. I had been looking for a Yorkie but already decided I would not go to a pet store or Alsip Home and Nursery to find one. So when I learned that some had been rescued I jumped into action.
London is my first Yorkie, my first small dog. I have been mommy to many many BIG dogs but this little girl has stolen my heart, and YT was a god send to me right after I adopted her.
I remember when I brought her home and our black lab (husband's dog) looked at her and tilted his head my husband said to him; "Yep, Barkley, that's a dog, can you believe it?"
Now, both Barkley and my husband love her. She loves climbing on Barkley and chewing on his face. He just lays there and wags his tail!!! She barks at him and bosses him around and he just lets her! He makes sure he doesn't step on her when they are running. I truly think she feels she is as big as he is.

I just wish I could keep a bow or clip in her hair. Either Barkley or her other 4 legged sister, Rory, always take it out of her hair. London is just not a girly girl, much more of a tomboy and is much more happy when wrestling and romping outside. So, I brush and comb her and 5 minutes later she is romping and playing.
Ah, the life of a Yorkie mom, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Welcome to YorkieTalk! We all know what you mean about going crazy over our pups! My little girl has just about everything you can have for a spoiled Yorkie. Not quite, I still have a few things to go! I am waiting for a Kwigy Bo, too! What color are you getting?

hi again....thanks for the replies and kind welcome! as the fates would have it i guess, today has been swamped and it's only now that i've been able to jump on-line and read them along with the pms some of you sent.

i will definitely reply but am still sort of figuring out the mechanics of the control panel etc... given all the hours i've spent trying to absorb as much info as possible here it's a bit ironic i never once thought to investigate how the site works! :eek:

that said, i think i've actually managed to upload a few shots of lulu so when you get the chance, take a peek! she is snoozing by my side this very minute (omgosh....she is just too adorable for words) and after the day i've had, i'm going to finish a bit of reading and then get to snoozing right along with her!

again....thanks to everybody who read my first ramble. after posting it i kept thinking "good grief, court...you're supposed to make a long story short, not the other way around!"
