Yorkie Laundry Okay....i was doing laundry this morning and realized how much doggie laundry i have....Ugh!! I have a fmaily of six so the waher/dryer are always going but now with standard poodles bellybands which get washed daily and the panties for Chai and the beelybands for hefner as well as the t-shirts and dresses, I almost have a full load of doggy clothes every day!!! Am I the only one? Please tell me I'm not. |
Our washer & dryer are always going! We have five kids, and three furbabies! It's no stop here! :) |
Nonstop....sometimes i think the dogs have more clthes than the kids....oops... |
We have Yorkie and Maltese laundry too. Mainly, pajamas and t-shirts. Gracie really does not get her dresses dirty but EVERYTHING I put on Sammie ends up in the washer... |
OK.. does anyone else use this for their yorkies laundry .....WOOLITE?? B/C I DO!! LOL |

Wowie!! Sounds like you have a big laundry mess!! :P hee hee he Standard poodle bellybands... I can't imagine! I dont have nearly as much laundry to wash so I'm only washing yorkie clothes once a week and they get thrown in with everything else ;) LoveMyBaby - You use Woolite!! I am impressed :D |
yes guilty as charged... Well woolite is supposed tobe for delicate clothing so there you have it.. i use it on his blankets and stuffed bears anything that i can wash of his really once a week and i wash his stuff separately .. eeeeeeek i know im a weirdo! lol |
You are not alone SoCal -- I have at LEAST 2 loads of dog stuff each week to wash ... clothing, blankets, bedding, etc.... The sad thing is, you pile up all 3 of my dogs and they weigh under 9 lbs!!! Its craziness, but I wouldn't have it any other way. |
Me too.. I have Yorkie Laundry, PJ's, tee shirts, Mattress pads, towels, face towels, |
I have lots of yorkie laundry too! Tshirts, blankets, etc....I use baby detergent for their stuff as well as my bedding (b/c they sleep in the bed too) |

Coco is potty trained, so I don't have to worry about too much laundry or many messes. She's ready to be a service animal now that she is potty trained. :D tee hee hee..how exciting. |
No Not here. We dont keep ours in clothes or belly bands all the time. They dont mind clothes. But we dont put them on them only a few times a month. and then their clothes go right in with our laundry. |

I never thought about using woolite for the bedding and clothes. I use tide to do all my washing do any of you think its too strong?? I never have noticed anything wierd about my dogs health. Should I switch? |
now that the subject has come up. how often should you wash thier belongings? i was told they need to have a scent to keep them feeling safe. if you was the blankets all the time dont you lose the scent. forgive me if this sounds stupid. but i've only been a proud mama for a whooooooping 5 months :D |

The bellybands aren't too bad because i use pads and they rarely actually pee in them luckily but. they are like underwear so I have to wash them frequestly. |
the reason i use woolite is b/c ive noticed Chicle scratching alot and im not sure where its coming from .. so i took the precaution of using a mild detergent for his things.. i wash once a week .. and he knows what things are his .. so no worries here :) |
and because there seem to be a group of people who have posted here that are interested in the requirements for service dogs, I am happy to say that there is no requirement that service dogs be completely and totally potty trained... In fact, a puppy from the moment of birth can be a service dog "in training" with all the rights, privileges and recognition as a fully trained service dog. The training for a service animal can be life long...in fact they love to learn more and more once they have gotten a taste of learning. |
Nobody posted anything about wanting to know anything about requirements for service dogs. |
I dont have that much Yorkie laundry because Gucci doesnt have that much clothes to begin with. She has 2 or 3 shirts, her harness vest and her blankets. So Gucci's load is very small. I only wash her vest and blankets every week. The shirts when she wears them and I really dont keep her shirts all on day only when we go out. She is pee pad train, so she doesnt use panties. |

Maddies clothes don't usually get too dirty, so I don't have to wash them too often...but when I do, I handwash them with woolite and hang them to dry. I'm sure if I had as many furbabies as you do, Kim, that I'd be giving up the handwashing and using the machine! LOL |
