Maybe a stupid question, but... my sweet Yorkie, Pippi, jumps on my lap AS SOON AS I get my jeans on (~ 9-9:30 am. I use a wheelchair b/c I was thrown off my horse & broke my neck:(). She sits w/me for HOURS - maybe 5-6 till she jumps down whilst we're outside to relieve herself; thankfully she 100% housebroken. During this time, I'm generally getting ready - makeup, perfume, whatever - and, she'll just sit, and usually lie down facing my left-side:aimeeyork (I think she feels secure tucking her snout). She's usually been this way, but even more so now that my other dog has passed. If she's not riding on my lap, she's laying nearby and springs into action as soon as she hears the 'click' of my (power)chair. I talk to her, sing to her, etc, but worry she'll tire of me since she's always nearby. She's also my 'service dog', and sits on my lap when we're in public & she sleeps w/me, too. Just worried my sweet angel will tire of me -OR- if she feels responsible for looking out for my well-being. I just love her so-ooo much :love: xo - Gisela and Pippita:aimeeyork |
Aw, thats way cute! You are a lucky person to have such a dog. It will love you and never get tired of you ever! They live to be with you. I have one that is always with me too. I worry that he doesn't play enough so i always try to start play and throw toys. He loves to bury his favorite toy in a blanket and dig it up. He also likes to bury his nose and snuggle when he lays on my lap. |
Awww, I think your sweet angel is just fine with making sure you are okay and cared for. These little ones have a way of knowing just what we need. I am glad that she can be there for you. She sounds like a dollbaby. :) |
I was lucky getting her, for sure. And to think, nobody had wanted her?? Their loss. We go to the dog park frequently, and while she'll run off to chase a ball or frisbee, she stops every few minutes to make eye contact w/me. If she can't see me, she'll find me. But, then -and, only then - will she return to play. I just don't want her to tire of me... I need her. :animal-pa:animal-pa :aimeeyork |
Actually, she probably feels like the luckiest little girl in the world to be with you so much. Chelsea would be thrilled if she could just stay glued to my chest and have me all to herself (well except when she wants to eat or chase squirrels lol). I don't think you have anything to worry about. Just love and enjoy her! :) |
You've got a 'Keeper' there... and it sounds like she's keeping you! I don't think I've ever heard of a dog becoming tired of it's owner.Maybe an occassional misunderstanding that needed worked out but never anything permanent. Sorry to hear about your riding accident. I worked with horses for almost 15 years, till I met a Yorkie! They're hard to give up. (horses and Yorkies) |
I doubt she'll tire of you. She probably thinks she's 'taking care of you'. Being near you is quite normal. You've got a jewel! Enjoy her & don't worry about it unless her behavior changes. Even then, it may just mean she needs a little break. When I get dressed, Roxy's always on alert. Doesn't want to miss anything, and doesn't want to be left home. If I'm going, she wants to go. If I'm not dressed, she knows I'm not going anywhere or going outside to do something. She wants to go too. So sorry about your riding accident. You're fortunate to have such a faithful friend. |
