Can anyone explain this behavior? Our guy lately has been running upstairs and laying next to our bed, or going in our downstairs bathroom and laying on the rug there at night while we watch tv. We keep brining him out by us because we feel bad he is going in there alone, but he keeps running back to our bedroom or the bathroom and just sleeps there. Is this normal or not? We also just recently had a baby 2 months ago, don't know if that has anything to do with it. |
Maybe he is cold, or maybe the baby scare him, sorry I can't be more help to you. |
That almost sounds like what my first yorkie did when we first brought home the new puppies. She would go off on her own and sleep in her crate or on our bed upstairs while we were downstairs doing something which was odd for her since she is normally by my side 24x7 when I'm home. We came to thinking she was just expressing that she was a little sad because she was no longer the one and only receiving my attention. After we noticed it, we tried really hard to give her extra attention so she knew she was loved just as much. :) Luckily, she is back to normal now....and having a blast with our new additions :) so much so...that she whines for us to get out of bed in the morning so that we can let "her" puppies out of the crate to play. LOL Another thing I do worry about when a dog goes off on its own is if something is wrong. When dogs are sick or hurt they can go off on their own because they worry you won;t love them as much if you find out there is something wrong. (or at least thats what I've read). |
I feel awful about this. But since the baby was born, he barks and cries all the time, and sometimes I just can't give him attention if my son needs it. HOw do I get my furbaby to be back to normal? |
Maddie did isolate herself when we brought home Cooper, our other furbutt. She would sit at the edge of the room and just 'stare' at me fromt he corner of her eye. I felt horrible. But I also noticed other behavior changes. Not wanting to play, cuddle, or sleep in our bed, instead she would go under it to sleep.:( I took her to the vet for a check-up and she had the start of an ear infection. With antibiotics- and LOTS of cuddling make up time, she slowly....four months!....returned to her old self. If pouting is his only sign, I would think it is because of the new baby. Congrats! by the way!! This is such a happy time for you all, I know it is hard to have to worry about your furbaby. I hope he adjusts soon. Best Wishes!! ((hugs)) |
Thank you I do too :( I love my guy but I just have not been able to give him the attention he needs lately |
