My Dog Has Roots! My yorkie is almost 3 years old. I only had him neutered a month ago tho. He's silver and gold...but all of a sudden, he's got dark roots! it looks kinda like a skunk in reverse down his back! LOL:D has this happened to anyone else's baby? Is he changing colour? not that i really care... but it's kinda weird to change colour at this stage of life isn't it??? |
I think they can change color their whole life. |
Changes in their hormone levels can cause a color change. Usually it is only temporary though. My girls will sometimes get darker when they are pregnant. |
Thanks for the response to both of you! oh maybe his hormones have changed due to his neuter? It will be interesting to see what happens! |
many things can affect the colors and make them change: hormones, weather and diet .. Yes, this happened to a male i was showing and it was the most annoying thing ever.... as you can imagine ... it continued changing and we just gave up on showing him. We are holding one of his 'kids" now.... kkkk... |
Us too! Uni was scratching and broke off her hairs due to food allergy. We have since switched her food and her hair is growing back darker and thicker. We'll see if it stays dark or if it's just temporary. She also has hairs on her head that keep changing dark to light to dark to light, and now it looks like she has stripes!!! |
candy has a tan beard a silver head, her body is black but if you lift the hair up its silver underneath, shes not 1 yet |
That happened to My Jewels when she was that age too and she did get darker in areas |
wow! and here i thought something unusual was happening! how wrong was i?LOL:D |
