Dog not registered?? Is that bad? I found a snorkie that is not REGISTERED and was wondering if that is a bad thing? PLEASE PLEASE ADVICE |
I am not sure what a snorkie is but it is a cross bred regardless. Papers will not do you any good other than identify parentage anyways. Some registries call it registration but it is just a piece of paper saying what each parent is. There are no shows for cross breds so I would say don't worry about any "registration" papers as they are just a selling tool anyways. ETA: Welcome to YT |
I have Lola who is a possible yorkie mix with poodle I was told. She has no papers. She's healthy, happy and a great girl. I would not pay very much for a mix. She was a rehome and I paid 150$ for her with shots. Mixes make great pets but I wouldn't buy a mixed puppy from someone that will only let them make money off mixing. A mix in need of a home from a shelter or even rehome I would do. |
???? What do you think of a SNORKIE breed?? They are costing only 350 so I am intrested...do you think its a good deal??? |
A snorkie is not a breed. It is a cross-breed, a cross between a yorkie and a schnauser (technically a mutt). I don't know about the price (good deal or not) but do not get fooled into thinking that it is something it is not. I'm sure that it would be a lovely pet, although be aware that someone who is breeding cross- breeds is not likely to have done any health testing and it could be prone to inheriting problems that are prevelant in either of the breeds. |

Snorkie is not a breed. It is a cross between two different breeds. Therefore, I think 350 for a cross bred is waaay too much money. You can pick up many crossbreds at shelters why not rescue one or rehome something instead of contributing to the breeders who are only interested in your money? If you adopted from a shelter, you can still give your pet a fancy smancy designer name and have the same type of pet for a whole lot less money and a much greater feel good cause! |

350 doesn't sound THAT bad although I wouldn't pay that much for a mixed puppy. And a snorkie, I don't know how I'd like that mix I can't imagine what they would grow up to look like. Again though, don't just look for a "deal" I looked for a deal before and my deal ended up costing me hundreds in vet costs. |
My boys are not registered but then I never really planed on having them breed. So it didn't really matter to me if they were or not. I have ID tags on my boys at all times. Hopefuly they will be found that way, IF they every get away from me, which I hope to heaven they wont Quote:

Snorkies are another new planned cross-breed between two pure bred parents. They can be absolutely gorgeous. These types of crosses are usually fairly expensive, like $900+ so $350 seems very low. You would have to get to know the breeder and the parents of the pup. Don't buy these off the internet. Make sure you know the breeder and that the situation is on the up and up. You need to see where the dogs live and that the mother dog is in fact lactating to be sure it is not a false set up. Registration will not make any difference with a snorkie. |
I've never heard of a "snorkie". I bet what happened was that someone is trying to come up with the new hot designer breed...I definitely wouldn't pay $350 for them...that's ridiculous. I would pay maybe $100 to $150. There won't be papers since it's not a purebred dog or a recognized breed. |
