constant licking hi all i have a question denzel has been doing constant licking for the past month he is licking everything from my hand to my bed post has anyone experience this before? Keep in mind denzel is one years old. I went to petco and seen some liquid to put in their water to stop the constant licking does this mean anything? And have anyone tried any solutions or i dont have anything to worry about? |
I have one that wants to lick material.....couch, slacks, shirts, blankets. I spray Bitter Apple wherever he tends to lick. Helps with him. Now my Pommie pays little attention to the taste of Bitter Apple. Hopefully, someone else will have some suggestions. Might want to use the 'search' button on the upper right hand side of the screen. Good luck. ~Joanne~ |
I have seen mine lick the crate wires, I tell her no, no, give her a toy and it gets her to stop. Cesar Milan had a small dog on the show that had this problem, it has been a while so I don't remember what he did for the dog. I would search the internet for excessive licking.... good luck. |
hello, both of my 6 month old Yorkies constantly lick me (my arms, hands, legs, face). I thought maybe this was a bonding thing? Not sure. I dont mind it so much but I dont want them to do it to other people. |
My older yorkie and my maltese has been licking their paws a lot. I was told it might be a nervous behavior also. I try to distract them by giving them chew toys or bitter apple and just saying NO. It is also funny as it is also a sign that my Yoshi is falling asleep when he starts chewing or licking his paws. All of a sudden he will fall asleep with his face either on the toy he is chewing/licking or his own paws. Too Cute.:D |
I have a two year old and a one year old, the two year old practically licks my skin off.He will sometimes lick material. Don't know what to do about it. I do try telling him No, that helps sometimes. |
Ok, I remembered something from the Cesar episode, he said the dog licking is a mothering thing. Now if I could remember what he did to stop it . |
