try the best you can to help these puppies. I am not encouraging you to take them to a rescue. Everyone kept telling me to take my yorkie to a rescue b/c I can't afford her vet treatment. she may have a liver shunt as well. she is doing great on meds and diet food so I am staying with that. There is no way I will turn my baby into a rescue. I will pray for you and your dogs to get better. it is possible, just keep trying. good luck =) |
I got to enjoy my beloved Stormy for a very short time, she was from a puppymill with a list of health issues. I wouldn't of traded her for the world, all the love she had for me and how well we were bonded. It is very costly and heart breaking I really don't know if I would be in any position to go through that after just losing her. I would possibly in your position surrendered these babies and get myself a well bred yorkie for the refund I got. It will be hard but in the long run these babies will get what they need and you may be saved from a very big broken heart. |
Puppy Mills in disguise! I almost got my Yorkie there! But their prices were so high and I was not willing to pay that much. I have to say, I too was almost enticed by there web site and some testimonials written there. After I got my puppy from a reputable breeder, I ran into someone who had a Yorkie from "the Palace" and same problems as yours! I agree we need to get the word out about this place. |
I have owned Yorkies all my life. I purchased one from the Yorkie-Palace 2 years ago. Buffy is the best, most healthy puppy I have ever had. I decided to get Buffy a friend & I wanted one from the same breeder who is Izene Hynes. I dealt directly with her and also went to her place to pick up Max. He also is a wonderful dog. I have not had one health issue with either one. |
Do not buy from queen yorkies palace I, like the OP also have gotten a genetic defective puppy from Queen Yorkies Palace. We got our yorkie from them in July of 2008. Now, about a year and half later we discover that our dog has severe liver problems. We took our yorkie to the vet to get is teeth cleaned. During the routine blood check (to make sure it was safe to put him under) the vet discovered abnormally high enzyme levels in his blood. Suspecting liver problems the vet sent us to a specialist. After an expensive exam and ultra-sound it was concluded that our yorkie had an unusually small, underdeveloped liver with smaller-than-normal blood vessels throughout it. In addition, he was diagnosed with a liver shunt. It will cost upwards of $2500 to repair the shunt. The underdeveloped liver and small blood vessels are genetic defects that cannot be repaired. Due to these problems our dog will now have a shortened life-span as well as future high medical and medicine bills. I called Queen Yorkies Palace and asked Walt what he was going to do about it. He stated that since it had been over a year since we purchased him that they would do NOTHING. Walt and Linda led us to believe that they bred their yorkies themselves. After doing further research it now appears that they buy their puppies from puppy mills and then resell them to unsuspecting consumers. They therefore are NOT breeders, but BROKERS of these little dogs. PLEASE do not buy from this broker. We are obviously very attached to our yorkie now so putting him down is not an option. We will now be stuck with higher medical bills the rest of his shorter life. Please to not fall into the trap of buying a genetically defective dog from Queen Yorkie Palace like we did. You already know what you should have done (research) and I'm sorry you were taken ...that alone isn't surprising because it happens all the time ... but I AM surprised you were refunded ....I doubt it was to 'help' you with your vet bills though .....It's probably because they must know the health issues their puppies have & they probably figured out you'd go away if you got your money back. IF I were you - I'd be going to every agency I could & gather all the evidence you can to put a stop to their 'business' .....it's cruel for them to be breeding and profiting from selling sick puppies. You have nothing to lose at this point. I hate reading things like this - it happens far more often than we think ..it's so sad not only for the dogs ....but the people who fall in love with them... |
I think you should demand the lifelong vet costs of those dogs (minus regular vet costs) due to their stupidity, negligence, and inhumanity. That's awful. I'm so sorry you have to go through this. |
ps - I noticed a few who posted here have bought from them - a good place to start doing something about it is right here - Put a review in the 'breeder review section' and plaster it all over the net - people WILL see it believe me. (years ago) right here on this site - I did a thread about a place I didn't buy a puppy from ....but WAS there in person. Lucky for me I knew enough to walk away but the place made me sick - the people I posted about (Brushy Creek Kennels in Hockley TX) ended up getting investigated by FOX news and even better - Inside Edition. I never dreamed my thread about them would get that kind of attention. They weren't brokers but had sold many sick puppies ...the reason I think it got so much attention was 1st - it was HERE - and 2nd - my post came up in google searches if anyone typed their name The FOX news reporter (David) even joined this site to gather more information for his report. It turned into a huge 3-segment investigative report about buying dogs online and how NOT be taken when buying a new puppy - It aired 3 nights in a row. in the end - they got what they deserved. So - Post away - if you really believe these people are selling very sick puppies and know it - you CAN make a difference. |
hmmm Tried to check out the website and you can't get on it now with out a past word! |
Well, here is an update with my situation regarding Queen Yorkies Palace. I called Walt a second time and demanded my money back, with the threat that I would tell my story on the internet regarding my puppy's genetic defect. Walt told me to "go ahead and do it." Then hung up on me. Unbelievable. I really hope that no one considers doing business with this people after knowing how I've been treated. DO NOT make the same mistake I did. RESEARCH your breeder (or in this case puppy broker) before buying from them. |
Puppy Mill in Hays For all of you out there who got a puppy from the puppy mill in Hays, you may want to file a complaint with the State of Kansas and also USDA, along with our state senators. There is an ongoing investigation at that puppy mill currently. Apparently, they sold a puppy with giardia and somehow it was surrendered to out local humane society. Guess what? They had to quarantine all the animals, sanitzie all the cages, and treat all the animals. THEY have filed MANY complaints against this puppy mill. If you need addresses, please email me and i can get them to you. |
I don't quite know why but I have never looked at the puppy mill list until today. I'm going to be posting that list along with my Newbie welcomes when I find someone who says they are looking for a puppy. Horrifying how many, many puppy mills are in operation. Our government spends money on so many worthless projects but can't seem to get his horrific problem under control. May God forgive us.:( ~Joanne~ |
First - Good news...word must be spreading! I checked out the site and it says This site has been taken down. For information contact info@thisisiniquitous.com Second - I have an amazing group to refer you to when it gets to that point that you just cant afford vetcare IMOM.org Helping People Help Pets After my angel Trixie died and $8000 of expenses and 4 weeks later my Roxy was diagnosed with kidney failure $1500 the vet then said you must get her teeth done because of the danger of infection and her current health situation and we need an anesthesiologist because of the kidney disease and it would be another $1200. I literally just didnt have it and was in a total breakdown mode. I started searching online for any hospitals that gave financial aid or something and came across imom. They choose people based on need, put up your pets story and every donated $5 or $10 dollars or whatever they can and in no time your treatment is sponsored. Its an amazing group and I when I win the lottery (notice I say when...I have always had an intuition that it will happen and I am good with intuition) I plan to make that group one of m first stops with a check. The really helped me and Roxy lived 3 years on borrowed time thanks to them. |
