beautiful yorkie, turns aggressive I am so sad right now. I have been ill, and in the hospital over a month. My family was taking care of my yorkie and young shih tzu for me while away for this long of a time. My dogs were kept at our home. They were not taken away from their enviroment. I have come home to my yorkie turning aggressive towards the younger, smaller shih tzu . Fighting , and attacking the tzu . I had no choice but to keep them separate from each other. Both are unspayed females . This is the problem ? will they be better after spayed? Just that the two become sexually mature while I was gone, and now it is a dominance thing ? The vet told me this could happen? normal behavior ? for 2females? since my yorkie is bigger the the tzu , I am scared she is going to really hurt the smaller pup . WIth the the tzu's sensitve eyes , It is frightning , the way my yorkie becomes so aggressive . Does anybody have experience with this? |
I really don't have any answers to your questions, however just wanted to say I am sorry that you had to spend such a lengthy time in the hospital and I hope you are feeling much better now. |
I have no answers regarding the issue with your dogs, but wanted to say I was sorry for your health problems and hope you are feeling better! |
I would think that spaying them will help.....but, also you need to show your yorkie that this is unacceptable behavior. I have had this issue with two of my females. What has worked for me is "time outs" just like you would do with a child. If only one is acting out, that one goes to a room by herself. If both are fighting, each one goes to a room by herself. I only leave them alone for a couple of minutes and when I let them out, I watch them closely and say "No" in a firm voice when they start to "posture". Works like a charm. It was frequent for a while and I felt they would never be able to live together....but, this only happens now once in a while and I get them back on track. Until you get this straightened out, I would not leave them alone together! Good luck! |
Sorry to hear that you've been ill, I hope that you are better now:love: I do think that spaying will help, since they got along before they hit "puberty". They don't call them bitches for nothing, right? Merry Christmas to you and yours:)! |
I wanted to say I am sorry for your health issues and hope you feel better soon. Spaying does help a lot for a lot of problems healthwise and otherwise.Best of luck to you:) |
