proper sized playmate???? My little sammy is #2lbs at 10wks(not big not small). She has a small frame. she is suppose to be #6lbs. My vet told me to stay away from a larger pup,to buy one around her size. Any ideas on this. I cannot find a smaller pup,and am anxious to buy another daughter! Most are #2 or larger at 6 weeks. Which probably means a # 9 LB BABY. Please help, suggestions wanted. thanks |
Have you considered another breed such as a tiny chihuahua? |
Maybe your breeder can help you find one. I'm sure there's one out there, waiting to be loved. Good Luck! :) |
Poms, BFs, another Yorkie... Try the Yorkie Rescue people...perhaps? |
I have an 8lb yorkie and a 4lb yorkie and they get along just fine. I think just buy an average size yorkie and youll be fine. |
When I first considered getting Stewie a playmate, I thought it would be best to get a smaller female. Now after I have experienced his temperment and behavior, I believe that a larger female would be the best match/playmate for Stewie and his needs. Dominance issues are important to me. I don't think that a few pounds in either direction would be a big deal. Best of luck to you. |
3 Attachment(s) I have a 5# yorkie and a 3# yorkie and a 10 ounce Chi and they all play together... under supervision, of course..... |
Everytime I see those pictures, I smile. They are soooo cute! |
I have to smile, my tiny, delicate, 3lb yorkie with teeth so small they look like the end of a toothpick, runs my larger boned, 6lb yorkie all over the place, literally. They have 1/4 yard all fenced in for play. Chloe was born in April, 04 and Lacey Aug,04. Lacey was so small she fit in the palm of my hand and I couldn't bring her home until Dec. All Chloe did was sorta push her behind to block Lacey's head when she got tired of her aggravating the you know what out of her. Just be sure to give the older yorkie plenty of attention, I'd give Chloe the first pat, first treat, first kiss, etc. It's a big secret, yorkies always think they are big. |
1 Attachment(s) Indeed, Yorkies can mix it up with any breed I think: |
