Requesting thoughts and prayers for Zoey
 

Zoey goes in for her spaying tomorrow morning and I just wanted to ask for my YT friends to keep her in your thoughts and prayers. I am a nervous wreck and am trying so hard to enjoy the evening with her and not let her feel my anxiety.

I will keep you and Zoe in my prayers, I hope that everything goes well tomarrow.

I went shopping for Mad while she was getting her's done... I really think that it helps curb the anxiety;)

I will say a prayer for a safe spay. The foster pom i have is going in for spaying tomorrow too. I plan on getting some shopping done while she is there.

A few more ... put in one because they were too big to load singularly?? (new to this) :rolleyes:

Sending lots of positive thoughts and prayers Zoey's way. She will do wonderful tomorrow, and you will be a nervous wreck. We will be here for you though! Please let us know when she is awake and recovering, and when you've got her home in your arms. It's a tough thing to go through (for you), but you are doing the right thing for your little girl.

Zoey :2hearts2: is awake, the procedure went well, they pulled 4 teeth, and she is 'resting comfortably' ... at least that is what they tell me. Of course I will feel alot better when I can pick her up in 4 1/2 hours but at least I know she is thru the surgery.

I just went through this a couple of weeks ago and got a lot of great support here. I know what you're going through and I know how stressful it can be!! She will be just fine!! My thoughts and prayers are going out to you and her!

I'm just now seeing this thread. All thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery for Zoey (and mommy!) I just went through it 2 weeks ago with Lola, and I was a nervous wreck until I could go pick her up and see for myself. Lola is totally back to normal now, like it never happened. Enjoy cuddling with Zoey when she comes home and get some rest - you'll probably both need it! :heart to

That is great to hear she is okay. She'll need lotsa spoilin'. Somehow I don't think that is going to be a problem. :rolleyes: lol Give her a big kiss and a gentle hug. :)

So glad to hear that it went well. I bet you can't wait for her to be home tonight.

I'm glad to hear that she made it through the spay safely. Let us konw when she is home!

(What's her size/weight, might I ask? Meg's on the waitlist for a spay but she's only 5 lbs so it makes me nervous...)

Zoey weighed in this morning at 4 lbs 15 ounces, one day after her 6 month birthday.

My precious Zoey is home now, she clung to me as soon as they brought her out and while it was hard to lay her in her bed - she is now resting comfortably. The vet assistant commented on what a sweatheart Zoey is.... but of course, we (I) already knew that ;).

She did wimper (and I mean only a barely audible wimper) a bit however, I do believe she was beginning to feel a bit of the pain. They said to not feed her too much or too much water as the pain med may cause sickness. But I did go ahead and give her the 1/2 pill they authorized. I also ground up a small bit of turkey (they pulled 4 teeth) and fed it to her while DH gave her an ice cube to lick as she needed.

She is now sleeping and I plan to do the same later - in touching/cuddling distance. Is a bit crazy how attached we become to these little girls... but I can not imagine my life without her. I also must add, that I believe in my heart of hearts, that my dear Jazzy who I lost a year ago; is with my Zoey in spirit and that somehow comforts me. :2hearts2:

Just now saw this thread. I am glad Zoey did good with her spay. Sending wishes for a speedy recovery. I know you will spoil her rotten.LOL

I am so glad Zoey is home and resting. They wouldn't release the foster pom as they didn't spay her until late afternoon. The shelter set it up and I can't go against the vets so I had to leave her their. I feel so bad for her. Does Zoey have an E collar on?

Oh no, I am so sorry for her and you too! My vet wanted to keep Zoey overnite... is their normal procedure but when I found out noone would be there with her I requested special permission to bring her home. I think the only positive thing is maybe no distractions will allow her to sleep fully thru the nite.

We have 2 of the softee cone collars (thanks to Mom to Hot Rod - Bo) tho we haven't had to use them tonite. I left one with her at the vets office but she hasn't begun 'messing' with the incision yet. I suspect tomorrow and the days that follow will be a different story. I know that I am very happy to have them on hand and they received high praises by the vet staff.
