IGive will donate $1 to YHR for each new memeber~Please read I just got this in my email and wanted to pass it on! What a great way to help without any effort at all! This is really cool and I hope that everyone will take advantage and at least sign up for IGive by THURSDAY and search at least once! :) We know that many causes have had a hard year, so we'd like to try something new to help Yorkie Haven Rescue that requires your participation, but is free and definitely easy. iGive.com is going to attempt to donate $5,000 in just 24 hours to Yorkie Haven Rescue and other causes. For each person who joins iGive using the special link below and does just one web search on our site between now and noon Thursday, we'll give Yorkie Haven Rescue a dollar. 5,000 new members, $5,000. No purchase necessary. Of course, if they search more (or buy something) they'll earn even more money for Yorkie Haven Rescue. Right now, we're donating $.02 per search and a bonus $5 for that first purchase plus the usual percentage. Here's where you come in. The only way Yorkie Haven Rescue will get new supporters and that free $1 (or more) is if you invite them. Send your friends, family, and colleagues the following link in an e-mail, tweet it, do a Facebook posting, put up posters, shout from mountain tops (you know the drill) and let them know you think Yorkie Haven Rescue is pretty cool and deserves their support, especially since it's free! You can even just forward this e-mail. This is the link: iGive : Raise money for Yorkie Haven Rescue, every time you search the web. We're really proud of our search capability, powered by Yahoo! We've made tons of improvements over the past four months, so we want lots of people to try it out and put it to the test. If they keep on searching or shopping after testing us out, so much the better for Yorkie Haven Rescue and iGive.com. The details: - Offer active between now and 11:59 a.m., December 17, 2009 (Chicago time). - New members only (never have been an iGive member previously). All the normal rules of membership, searching, and purchasing apply, our site has the details. - Once we've given away $5,000, the offer ends. That's it. Don't forget to try our search yourself (iGive : Raise money for your favorite cause, every time you search the web.). You may need to login first. From our families to yours, we hope you have a great holiday season. Yours, Robert N. Grosshandler Founder |
Wow! This is great! I'd like to mention 2 other ways that can help YHR or your favorite charity with no cost or effort on your part: Use Goodsearch instead of Google or Yahoo as your search engine. Every time you use Goodsearch, your charity will earn a donation. Sign up for Goodshop. A lot of the bigger national vendors (e-bay, Amazon, Home Depot, etc.) will donate a portion of the proceeds from your purchase if you sign up with Goodshop. You don't have to do anything differently to shop at these stores - just go to their websites and buy! |
It shows as the $5,000 has been reached! That is awesome!! Going back to check it out. Gen |

There are 2 different things going on 1. Igive is looking to add new people to use their search engine so they were offering to donate $1 for each NEW download of their search engine. Once 5000 people signed up THAT PART WAS CLOSED. I think it must have been maxed out before I even posted because several of the very first people said that it had been reached. They were not offering $5000 to YHR exclusively. :( Too bad that would have been wonderful :) 2. The $681.80 that you are seeing is the overall amount of money that Igive has donated to YHR since they have been around. Here is the breakdown: This Month: $4.36 (from 192 searches) $13.66 2009 Year-to-Date: $60.24 (from 3415 searches) $172.23 2008 Total: $12.46 (from 623 searches) $287.75 Total Raised (Life-to-Date): $72.70 (from 4038 searches) $609.08 † So as you can see searching with Igive does really help. In addition you can use Igive to SHOP. I have a little tool bar that is right on my browser and you can log in and shop all different stores. But you need to be sure to log into IGive to have the credit go to YHR. :) What is also does is let you know if there is a coupon or special offer for the website that you are shopping at too. Some times it is free shipping with a code or an extra % will be donated. The last time that I shopped I actually saw my little donation meter increase. You can also put the Igive/Isearch on your Facebook for everyone to see how much YOU have donated. For each search that you do with Isearch they donate .02 cents to YHR. So search away! :D I hope this has answered any confusion. |

You are wonderful! Thank you so much :) The thing about Isearch is that since its powered by yahoo you do not even notice a difference in your search. I wish more people would jump on the bandwagon and use this search engine. It would be so helpful! |
I missed the deadline, but signed up anyway. I am going to add a link to my website since we offer cottages and we are pet friendly. What a wonderful idea and glad that I can participate. |
