Calming meds for travel? A friend of mine has to travel with her cat during Christmas and she says that he gets quite stressed during long car rides. We've looked at what Petsmart carries on-line but I figured the best reviews I might find would be here. Has anyone used a "calming med" for their cat or dog and would like to recommend it? |
I don't know if it calms the animals but I use Baby gravel for my dog when I travel because she gets car sick. It does make her calmer though!! Good luck I would like to know some ideas as well!! |
Rescue Remedy was recommened to me here on YT. It does the trick for Buddy when he's feeling stressed when I leave for work. I think Petsmart may carry it. It now comes alcohol free for the pet version however the original version has been used for years on animals and humans alike. Look it up and see if it is what you may like to use. It's all natural and made from flower's. Check on line as well. Not sure where I got it. Just type in Rescue Remedy and it should come up. |
I like PetEaze. It's mostly Camomile and works great with mine. I have two that get a bit car sick and I give it to them when I have to take them somewhere. It's fairly inexpensive. They sell it at PetSmart. |

The first time I was to travel on an airplane with my baby the vet told me to use infant Benadryl. As it turned out, I didn't have to use it. |
Thanks everyone. Rescue Remedy was the one I was thinking of but couldn't remember the name of it. I've passed all suggestions on to her. |
