Agressive Yorkie I have a little 4-1/2 Yr old Yorkie that all of a sudden has become very agressive. She is biting our other dog, growling at any dog she sees and I'm afraid the next step will be that she might bite one of my grandkids. I'm wondering if anyone out there can give me some hints on what to do, or if they have ran across this problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |
Any major changes in your house lately? I'd definitely have the vet check her out, since this started so suddenly, especially if nothing has changed at home. She could have something physical going on and that should be eliminated, if possible. |

I have to agree with taking her to the vet. It's odd that she would just change her personality like that. Are you sure nobody has hurt her? |
She has been checked out by the vet and we had all her blood work done. Everything seems to be fine. It all started when we took a motorhome trip and left are big dog home with a sitter. Are bigger dog is 15 years old (Keeshond) and when we got back she started being aggressive towards her. We are now taking her to a dog psychologist to see what she has to say about it. I'm afraid she is going to bite someone. |
Agressive Yorkie We took her to the vet and had her checked out, blood work etc. Everything looks fine. This dog is hardly ever out of our sight and has never been left with anyone so I would know if she got hurt or something. She is are baby and if nothing else, is spoiled rotten. |

Has she had a rabies shot recently? Increased aggression is one of the side effects of the rabies shot and this aggression can occur months after the vaccination and each time the dog is given a rabies shot the aggression can get worse. |
Agressive yorkie This started before she had her rabies shot. She had her rabies shot about 4-weeks ago but got very sick from it. In fact she ran a temp of 102.6 so we had to take her back to the vet to have her checked. She was suppose to have her distemper show two weeks later but because she got so sick from her rabies shot the vet has decided to wait until Spring, if then. |

One thing you could try is the Bach's Rescue Remedy. Maybe it would work in calming her down. Bach Flower Essences Rescue Remedy Has she shown any aggression toward humans? Has she been spayed? |
