Did the Bully Stick hurt my baby?
 
I bought bully sticks for the first time yesterday and Capone hasn't stopped chewing them yet. He chewed up a whole one in one day. Just now he was chewing on one and started yelping really loud. He hardly ever yelps even when he is hurt so I know something hurt him. He put the stick down for a few minutes but then went back to it after taking a short break from it. Has this happened to anyone? Could it have hurt the inside of his mouth or tongue? It really scares me when I hear him yelp. Thanks.

He may have bit himself while chewing, mine can not eat these they choke

what are bull sticks?

It sounded to me like a scare tactic to get your dog to listen... but I guess it's a chew toy?

I believe its made of bull loins. It's kind of like a substitute for raw hide bones.

It sounds gross but it simply looks like a stick.
Jackson LOVES his bully sticks and they are the
one bone he won't chew up really fast. He takes
his time on it. They are also 100% digestible,
and much better for them than rawhides and others.

Could he have bitten his tongue or the inside cheek of his little mouth. It would be possible if he was really chewing hard, but then there would have been a bit of blood too.

Heh heh, usually knowing that turns people off about them! I prefer Merricks wishbones. They are the achilles tendon of a bull. They last long too, but they don't smell. I still think bullys stink, and I've tried a lot of brands. PU!

Oh yeah, Uni bit herself on the wishbone too. She let out a big squeal, then went right back to work.

Lucky loves the Bully Sticks also....it surprised the heck outta me when I found out what they're really made from...lol Given the smell though, it's believable...hahahaha
Lucky has tried almost every treat out there and his favourites are:
Bully Sticks
Ceasar bite size treats
and the dried chicken breast strips which are great because they are just 100% chicken breast!
He kinda loves pig ears too, but there are so much controversy over them I just don't let him have them now! They gave him runny poo a couple of times also.....soooo that done it for me lol.....

I didn't see any blood, attempted to look/feel around in his mouth but he wouldn't let me. I think he hates bully sicks now, which makes me sad because he loved it when I first brought it home.

Have you tried the moo free range bully bones? We tried lots and lots and kept finding them all stinky until I tried this brand and they dont stink at all.

I always buy Ella chewies made of rawhide. I have never seen or heard of bully sticks. Where do i find them?

Rawhides are unsafe for our little babies. They can chew off a piece and swallow it and since they are not 100% digestible can get lodged in the small intestines, and would need surgery and can even cause death.

Bully sticks and other products like it are made of 100% dried beef tendon, from various parts of the animal. You can find them easily on the net, try entirelypets.com they are a fave of mine. Sign up for their emails and they will email you with coupons and free shipping for over $25, etc. They just had a sale on Merricks products (still may be on sale) and I stocked up a years worth of wishbones and got free shipping too!
