Chachi the candybar snatcher My daughter had a candybar and dropped it. Chachi got it and ate a little bit before I got it from him. Can a little bit hurt them? |
I have heard of a small hershey's kiss sending a Rott into seizures....just watch real close for any unusual behavior....keep us posted on how he is doing. |
Not likely. chachi will be fine. Chocolate IS deadly, but it takes something like two candy bars to seriously affect a 5 lb dog. I wouldn't go crazy handing out choco-treats or anything, but you should be o.k. |

Years ago our 18 pound schnauzer ate a full pound of GODIVA chocolate my husband had gotten for me as a present and (obvioulsy) not hidden well enough. She had no ill effects - although I do know that chocolate is bad and can cause all sorts of problems. |
Oh my, Ok My friend had a puppy who ate see's candy. The Children at our school would always bring See's candy, she left it on her table and well her baby found it and had a ball. She was on a sugar high all day. Some pup's do have problems, so I would keep a good eye out. I had a Rottie who just loved MM's Never had a problem. Even the vet said it was OK. She lived to be 12 years old, and that's old for a Rottie. Keep a good eye on your Christmas Tree,(only 80 day's for he HO Ho Man) as mine love mint, and Candy Canes can only go on the top, or there gone! :) |
