Wouldn't this be a chunky yorkie? If he had this measurement and weight? I was looking up average heights of yorkies and found this. Height and Weight The tiny Yorkshire Terrier grows to around six or seven inches in height. The weight of this breed, based on a balanced diet, will reach approximately seven pounds. Bailey is 7 inches tall, but he is under 4lbs...I think he would be quite chubby if he were 7lbs at 7 inches tall!...Are most yorkies height 7 inches and under? That surprises me! |
When it says grows around six or seven inches in height, I'm guessing that means from floor to shoulder? :) |

both of mine are the same height, I would guess around 7" would be right, but one weighs 4.6lbs and the other almost 7lbs. the 7lb is affectionately called tub-a-lub and is just a butterball. the other one is skinny and lean. they are both healthy. the chunky one can't jump though like his brother and its funny to see him try to get on the couch, he just can't make it. Now he just walks up and whines until someone picks him up. I will say that they are actually built very different and if the 7lb one lost weight I don't think he would look good because he is just stocker. |
Well, you'd also have to take into consideration their length...Apple is longer than Buzz...Buzz is going to be a little taller than Apple, but shorter in body...Also, their bone structure...Buzz has a bigger barrel chest and seemingly heavier bones, and Apple has a more svelt girly figure ;) and seems lighter boned...So 7" tall w/a longer body and denser bones might make for a heavier yorkie, than the slight of bone ones...IMO...And I really do try to make my opinion humble, but sometimes it doesn't come across as so :p |
Lol!! Well Bailey is 7 high amd 8.5 long, I look forward to him putting on some weight! How tall is Apple? |
Sorry, we just got back from a walk, and saw this msg...She's pretty wiggly, but best I could get between 7 1/2 - 8 inches tall and 10 - 10 1/2" long, from the shoulders to the tail...However, believe me, that's a rough measurement, w/miss wiggly butt...lol...She weighs 5 lbs. and is 13 1/2 months old, so I believe she's through growing.... |
