2 Attachment(s) When we first saw our little girl the breeder was calling her female # 3. We wanted a name that was soft and feminine so we chose "Sophie." It just seemed to fit:) |
When I was looking for my first yorkie on internet I found one with the same name as mine (Dena) but spelled (Deena) so of course I got her and named her Deena Bella. Then my husband was jealous (Michael) so we got MichaelAngelo last week lol. Bells is a year on the 15th and MichaelAngelo was born 10-6-2009. All and all thats how their names came about...:D |

Moka belongs to my darling daughter (well she paid for her but we all know Moka loves me most, LOL) and she named her Mocha, hence my screen name Mo CHA CHA (that's moka's nick name). But then, changed it to a shorter more unusual spelling of Moka. Then we added another and wanted it to roll of the tongue nicely with Moka, so we came up with Mylee. No, she is not named after Mylie Cyrus... We picked her up on our way home from Thanksgiving and driving many "miles." But mostly because Moka and Mylee sound good togther and both start with M. We had a Maui in between, but tragically lost her. |
The girl who gave me Bilbo had named him Gizmo, but I wanted something different. First, I wanted to name him Bingo (like the song), but that didn't fit. Then I remembered the old country song, "Bimbo" that my grandmother used to sing to us and thought I'd name him that. But a friend pointed out two things: 1) The word bimbo has negative connotations 2) Bimbos are usually girls. So I thought for a couple of days and my husband said, "Why not name him Bilbo, since he has furry feet?" So we did! |
Long before we got Josephine my mom and I started thinking about names since we knew we were getting a girl. It had been a long time since we've gotten to name one of our dogs (for years we did service dog training and they preselect the name of the pups) so we were a bit at a loss. At first I wanted to name her Kitty, however my mother vemonately disagreed. And then the newest litter was born and one of the little girl's name was Josephine. While I do know we could have easily renamed her, after we broke out the name dictionary we decided against it. Josephine - meaning; a new addition in the family, name in history; Napoleon's wife. It was too perfect. Though next one is so going to be Kitty. |
All my dogs are name Major on their papers. My dad loved the name and wanted me to name something that so I ended up with it in all my dogs name. My first one Jazzy is named Melissa's Major Jazz.. and so on.. |

There used to be a soap opera called 'Passions'. (it might still be on a cable channel, I don't know) Anyway, there was a girl on there named Fancy Crane and I just loved the name Fancy so much. Its different - I have yet to meet another Fancy (altough Im sure they are out there) So I already knew I wanted to name her Fancy and it fits her perfectly. |

When I found out I was getting my boy I thought I wanted to name him Riley from the phrase "living the life of Riley" because I knew he was going to be spoiled rotten. When I went to pick him up I mentioned it to the lady I was getting him from (who I had not ever met before) and she said oh that would be pretty wild. My daughters name is Riley. Well that kinda freaked me out. I didnt even know she had a daughter much less that her name was Riley. I had a little bed for him and he kept trying to tuck himself into the sides of it as tight as he could. I said look at him trying to tuck himself in there. We had a real estate paper in the car so he could have something to potty on on the way home because we had a 4 hour drive to go. I looked down and the top of the paper under my arm had Tucker Realty on it. So I looked at my husband and said TUCKER. The whole family agreed. I took him to the vet the day after I got him. I had never been to this vets office before. There were about 6 or 8 docs at this place. I could have ended up with any one of them. The doc I got was named Dr. Tucker. I couldnt believe it. I just knew at that point Tucker was the name he was supposed to have and he was supposed to be mine because he was born on my birthday. |
