Mia just turned 1 sometime in September I think? |
I know it is not always possible to see into the future, but this does demonstrate why people need to consider their lifestyles for the next approx 15 years when they get these doggies. It isn't fair to them to be left alone so much, nor is it fair to them to be handed off to strangers when situations like this come up. |
I agree!!!!!!!!!!!     |
I'm in NE Fl and will be glad to take this little gal if a home is needed. I have two female yorkies, am retired so am home a lot. Of course, I'd need a healthy vet check up. |
I think my cousin has decided to stay with her. She really is having a hard time parting with her, We are taking our little one's tomorrow for grooming and we will talk about it more then, she says that if she where to giver her up, she would want to give her to someone here in florida, so that she would be able to see her now and then. :) |
Although I could never imagine giving up either of my girls for anything, I do think that you would need to think of the best interest of Mia...you would never leave a child alone that long and you should not do the same for a puppy...they need love and interaction as much as human babies do!! I would try to find a new home close by so that your cousin could still visit and check up on her...and then later on when she is more settled she can get her a new baby to love!! |
Update On Mia Thanks to all for responding and your opinions. We took our little ones to groom yesterday, and my cousin told me she has decided to keep Mia. She is really going to try and make more time for her, she is going to try and cut back on her hours at work. I don't know if I gave the impression before than she didn't care for her, but honestly that is the complete opposite, my cousin Loves Mia and that's why she wants the best for her. Hopefully things will work out and she can stay with her. My cousin does not have children and is unable to, so Mia is really like the child that she never had. This is why it was so difficult for her. Again Thanks to everyone for your opinions........ |
I'm glad your cousin is doing what she feels would be right for Mia :) |
ANyway she could take her to work with her? If she works in an office, she could have her near her, and take her for a walk on her breaks. Some offices here will let you do that. She would enjoy the ride in the car and the interaction. At any rate, I hope she can work something out. Even have someone come in during the day and take her for a walk, and play for awhile. Maybe a neighbor or a teenager who needs a little extra spending money? Pat |
Thats good that she loves her sooo much to keep her. Maybe you could furkid sit 2 to 3 days a week that way she has a playmate. Or maybe she could take her to doggy daycare. |
