Painting dog's toenails.... I painted my chihuahuas nail a week ago but now I want to do a new color does anyone know what I can use to safely remove the nail polish? I wasnt sure if I should use nail polish remover  How many of you have ever tried to paint your yorkies nails? I cant imagine even trying with all that hair but was curious if any of you have attempted. |
yes I tried to paint Porschas and she would let me, I could rub her feet and she was fine but as soon as I got the brush near them she freaked lol oh well! |
I saw a neat tip on how to cut your dog's nails. Grab and old pair of pantyhose and shove her nails through them and pull it up over her foot, does that make any sense? Anyway this holds the hair back, you could use this for painting the dog's nails as well, although you would have to keep the panty hose up until the nails dried, so it probably isn't practical either. I haven't tired it yet though, when cutting, so I don't know if it even works. |

Actually that is a smart idea. I used some of my own quick drying nail polish last week when I painted tinks nails but thats becaus I havent gotten my Dog pawlish in yet from PetEdge but I should get it tommorrow and its supposed to dry quick. So they panyhose idea is smart. I doubt either of my dogs will let me try to put pantyhose over thier paws and nails though  |
i think there is a nail polish remover made especially for dog nail polish |

Do you know where I can buy it? |

You can buy the remover at this link. glamourdog pawlish remover I'm not sure if it will work on people nail polish or not. It should since pawlish is made by OPI. |

I thought about getting some polish for Gypsy but wondered how safe it is if they chew on thier feet. |
I have the OPI pawlish and the petedge brand and it is very hard to get it off. It seems harder than our nail polish, I have always had to let it just wear off or layer another color over the base color!! |
I dont know how to get it off, but I do paint Doras and my boy chis nails. I just let it wear off, OR I just paint over it. PS- I also used Doras polish from petedge, and it works GREAT! And it lasts forever! After 2 weeks, I had to take it off. With my remover, it came off quickly too:thumbup: I like it BETTER than my human polish:rolleyes: And I like me and Dora to match! LOL |
Hhhhmmmm .... I don't know ..... I never painted a dogs toenails .... and I don't think I will ..... ;) |
