Does anyone else hate brokers too? http://www.coolpuppies.com/services.html "We represent a professional international breader" "We take care of your puppy for you until the baby is ready to go to your home" This site pretty much admits to be a broker. These people ALWAYS have puppies and act like they're just objects to make money off of. I can't stand the "teacup" references and not mentioning anything about how fragile those smaller pups are and how they shouldn't be with children under 3. Most brokers deal with puppymillers from the midwest, they ship the dogs to California in bunches where they sell for much more. How sad, I look at all those faces and wonder about thier mothers. If I ever decide to become a breeder I would want to meet with the families and make sure the babies were going to stable homes and not just toys or assesories. I also can't believe people wouldn't want to know where their puppy is coming from. |
I've seen this site before. Yes, I also hate brokers. I got my baby from a broker and lets just say that I new more about yorkies in two weeks of owning my baby than this lady in god know how many years of puppy broking. Needless to say I see her ads every week on the paper and feel like paying for one right under her that states not to buy any babies from her. It maked me sick to my stomach when I see her advertising every week. By the way she is so clue less and retarded when aproach with health issues of a baby. |
I got Gucci from a broker also. He wasnt that bad, at least he gave me some money back when Gucci came home and had coccidia and ringworm. I cant happily say that he is not selling Yorkies anymore. I learned so much on YT that now I know better. |
re: brokers If the price difference didn't exist it wouldn't be so much of an issue. A pet quality yorkie in California runs $1200 for a male lowside. If more repritable breeders were established here it wouldn't be as much of a problem. Also, if people were educated about it. I didn't know anything about brokers until I searched for my yorkie. I almost bought one from a broker in Missouri, until I asked the lady if she had the puppy's parents on site. Then she told me that she has "friends" who live out in the country she gets the puppies from, out in the boonies and I wasn't allowed to see the parents and it would be a long drive anyways. I've seen some excellent breeders on this site, but they seem so hard to find in Cali unless you really look into it. |
re: gucci That is actually bad that the puppy had coccidia and ringworm. I'm glad you were a good mommy and got your puppy vet care. But the other puppies and dogs there probably had the same problems and not recieving proper care. Alot of them never have been to vets, have gotten any shots, or wormed. I believe that should be standard for any breeder. |

Yes I also hate brokers. Mac came from a broker who lived in my area. She seemed to care about all the babies she placed until Mac became very ill and then all of a sudden she was no longer a broker but and advertiser. Her only option was that I could pay to return Mac to the breeder and work out an arrangement with the breeder for a new dog. This was not the option I wanted to persue. Mac was a member of our family and not something you just returned to sender. She would not honor the health guarantee which was from her, not the breeder whom she would not give me the name until my attorney contacted her. I only wanted her to pay for some of the enormous medical bills, which in our state is legally an option. When I was dealing with her to purchase Mac she was saying how she treats all the puppies like they were her own and likes to stay in touch with the new owners and there for support. That is until something goes wrong. We had contacted an attorney but unfortunately it would have been very expense for me to pursue in court. I think she has had other problems since her Web Site and her health statement/guarantee has changed more than 3 times since my problem with her. Now it's more like she is an advertiser. Thank God Mac is fine now. I would never trade Mac for a million dollars but I wish I was more educated at the time and would have stayed away from her. I found out after this happened to Mac that his sister was sold to a pet store ("she only uses reputable breeders"). Here is her web site which I would advise from staying away from. http://prestigiouspuppies.com/ |
ad What goes with a "breader..butter??? |
Marie, it must have been difficult to see your little Gucci like that...I'm glad she's all better now and that you have done everything to get her healthy!!! She's adorable! |
re: brokers LMAO! I didn't even notice the lady didn't spell "breeder" right on her website! How professional is that? |

re:brokers I feel so bad for you and Gucci both, it most have been terrible seeing the poor puppy like that. When my son was 6 weeks old his face broke out in a rash (extremely dry skin runs in our family.) The doctor gave me a cream to put on him but I hated bringing him out of the house because I felt like breaking into tears when someone would comment on his face or ask what was wrong with him as if I did it to him. I hate to see sick babies. But what makes the puppy thing worse is it could have been prevented. The lady on your site tried to make it seem like the puppies were healthy. I wonder if you would have been able to visit the breeder and Gucci's parents if you would have still got him. The return policy on puppies are bs. Of course no one would return their puppy, they've already fallen in love with it and want to make sure the puppy gets the best health care. If someone were to return the dog the broker/breeder might end up putting them to sleep instead of paying the money. I'm glad gucci is so much better, she looks beautiful now. I hope that bad breeder isn't putting any more puppies through that. |
I dont haqte brokers but I would never buy a puppy from a broker. The price is always higher. |
re: brokers So you're more concerned about money than the health of the puppy or the fact that it may have come from a puppy mill? Brokers do not do any kind of a service or help for the puppy. They just sell it to whoever will pay the money. |
Not all the puppies sold through brokers come from puppymills. Alot of breeders that sell on the higher end use brokers. Of course I dont support puppymills. |
