advise on studding?
 
Okay hear is the situation, my mother works with a woman who owns a s**tzu and talks about them all the time and apparently about Pann and me too! This woman wants Pann to be their stud (am i even using that term right!?) when he gets older, she wants shorkies. I have no idea what to think about this. I haven't spoken to the lady yet, she has text me through my mom's phone =/ so I just don't know what to think. I heard that once they make puppies once then male are all about sex and humping everything and yah. I don't know anything about this subject, I'm just curious what you all know? My original plan was to get him fixed when he was old enough but now idk. I don't want anyone to get hurt for the female to bite him or die or have puppies die or anything! Please help me, tell me what you know about this madness?

Excuse me, cross breeding?

Much more to being a responsible stud owner than just studding out your dog and worring about he's personality changes......

It's indeed madness! Get your baby fixed. There is no need to contribute to the starting of another greedy byb's business. She is greedy because she only wants to do this for money :mad: Shorkie is not a breed and there is no guarantee that they will come out cute, adorable or healthy. Shame on this woman for asking you!

ok, my studs does not go around crazy humping everything in sight..:D he is over the hormonal teen stage.. but he can detect a bitch in heat 4 miles away...is a lot of responsability that comes with a stud, but MY main concern with an outside of my home bitch is "BRUCELLOSIS" is a type of venerial disease that can kill your stud. even tho I own my girls, with my maiden girls I still have the vet run a test for it.. better safe than sorry..
I have nothing against cross breeding, I own an accidental mutt, and he is the LOVE of my husbands eyes.. my older stud mated with my son's Jack russell and we have yorkie jacks..LOL, we were told she was fixed and discover she was not the hard way...:eek: now,my hormonal new silky stud is still in the humping stages... he seems to be calmer now that he is a daddy.. he is young only 2. my older stud is 8 he is now semi retired..:(

Easy and simple answer to the lady " NO! ". Wow just because she has a shihtzu and she wants to make shorkies. Tell her to go to the pound and get a darn shorkie why bring more mixed dogs into the world?!

I didn't mean to offend any one :(. I posted this because I don't know anything about it. She wanted to use Pann as a baby maker i didn't feel comfortable with that as I knew nothing about any of this sorts and I knew that I could be better educated on yt. I'm not trying to overpopulate the world with mixed dogs or any dogs.thanks everyone for the advise..

I am sorry to disagree with you, NOT all studs are peeing machines and humpers.. I know some dogs that are humping machines and peeing machines and are NOT studs...:D:D:D.. I have to defend my boys... :):)

My boyfriend's dog Cosmo is a chocolate lab who has been studded out a couple of times, one of which was just over the summer. I know this dog very well and he does not do any of the things you described above. He just gets a little restless when he smells a female in heat.

Please don't feel bad, with or without your dog, she is going to do what she is going to do, I am a breeder and can tell you that.. I have a lady down the road from me that sells yorkiepoos, and let me tell you she makes money I don't...LOL and my dogs are born in my dressing room, I only do one litter a year, they are AKC registered and all.. and she breeds out of her garage and makes lots of money.. if that woman is looking to breed that dog regardless of the concecuenses she is going to do it..
is up to you to tell her how you feel and make your own choice, hopefully and educated one based on YOUR knowledge.
now if you ask me for my humble opinion, I would say no don't do it, the risk is not worth the consequences.

I agree with you Carmen, if you're knowledgable you can have happy non humping, peeing machines. The operable words here are knowledgable/experienced.

I have two lil 14 week old pups here that are lil humping machines.......

You didn\'t offend anyone....just got our juices going. We see posts such as yours all the time.....Some of us are very serious reputable breeders with only one thing in mind.......The Good Of The Breed. Leave The Breed Better Than We Found It.
