Is it normal... for Fergie to be a groggy and kind of lethargic after her distemper booster? |
Yes, some doggies get drowsy, dizzy, lethargic after any booster. Also she will most likely develop a little lump at the injection site. It will take a few weeks to show up, and a few months to go away. Don't freak out when you find it. Just remember where the injection site is. Uni got her rabies in the summer and her lump is still there. Smaller, but still there. Just keep massaging it. |

It also helps to give benadryl about an hour before shots. As the shot tend to make some dog really sick. A little piece of baby aspirin is good afterwards for fever from the shots. But, check with your vet as to how much to give. Never get annual and rabies at the same time as it’s to hard on them. Best to space them out at lease 1 month apart. And Never let the Vet give a shot where the hair will part on the top of the back because sometimes the shots can cause a bald spot at the injection site |
