suddenly clingy in the past month Gatsby has become very clingy. in july he had to have a blood transfusion and he still seems to be recovering but as soon as he got out of the hospital he was back to his independent self i just got a new baby a week ago but he was doing this before i even knew she had been born so that cant be it its not that i mind but im getting worried that hes trying to tell me something and im not listening he will be one on dec 1st and has never lived in a 1 dog home not to much has been happening in our lives and nothing changed right around the time this started (he did get a hair cut but he gets one evry three months)so i am at a loss i called the vet and she sort of laghed at me and said medicaly he was fine he has a lot of energy and we have been going for our normal nightly walks so the question is do yorkies get more clingy as they get older is this just him maturing and loveing his mommy more or could thear be something wrong |
I don't know that I'm any help. Roxy has always been quite an independant soul. 1 yo. I noticed at about 10-11 mo, she suddenly started wanting to sit on my lap. Was quite content for awhile, then she was off & running again. Up until then I was lucky to get 2 min at a time, but spending more time cuddling w/dh. He was never the one to groom, bathe, train, etc. Only the fun stuff. It's been a pleasant change for me to willingly just sit there for 30 min or so. I just figured she's growing up some. I wouldn't call it clingy though. You situation sounds enough different that I don't really have any suggestions. You might want to call the groomer & ask is anything unusual happened while he was there. Maybe he's just going through normal stages. This is my first yorkie, so I'm feeling my way through it. |
thanks for the help anyway i was just hoping someone could tell me if this is normal gatsbys my first yorkie to |
