Maybe they just need to give her a bit more pain meds. I'm sure she will be fine, but I know you are worried. I was a wreck!! Also a little tip, don't pick her up under her arms. Just kind of scoop her little butt up with one hand and the other under the arm. You don't want to stretch her little belly. That would hurt, and possibly rip stitches inside. Please let us know how she is doing when you hear back from the vet. |

I can pick her up in a little over an hour. The time can't go fast enough. I just want her in my arms. Thanks to everyone who helped me get through the day! What a lifesaver this place is - truly. :) |

Thanks so much for the tip on how to pick her up! I was sitting here wondering about that. I certainly don't want to hurt her and I was trying to think what would be most comfortable. I'm going with your plan. :D |
how did it all go? is she resting at home with you now? :justhugs: |
Awwww - we are thinking of you and imagining you 'cuddling your precious Delilah'. I would be the same way!!!!! I have to set up an appointment for my Zoey in the next month - and they want to keep her overnite :thumbdown:eek::thumbdown:eek: Will keep you both in our thoughts and prayers ((huggss) :ghug: ~Denise |
Just checking in to see how she is doing. Hoping for an update soon. |
I've got her home now and she's sleeping on my lap. When I got there to pick her up, she was in the back room but I could hear her whimpering. I knew it was her and I just wanted to run back there and grab her!! The ride home was a little uncomfortable for her. I think she's resting well now though. She couldn't seem to get comfortable and kept moving around. She did eat some chicken and drank water and she peed as soon as we got home. So those are all good signs!! She will still whimper a little here and there and she shakes every once in awhile. She holds her head down so low and her ears are drooping. :( My poor baby. On a good note, I LOVE the place I took her. It's one of those low-cost spay/neuter clinics so I was apprehensive at first. I was worried that I should have just gone to my vet. But they were great and the price difference was pretty significant. ANYWAY - she had a double row of teeth and they pulled the baby teeth that hadn't come out on their own. And they didn't charge us! I was shocked!!! So they pulled her teeth, spayed her, gave her a rabies vaccination, and sent us home with pain meds. All for $80!! My vet quoted me $220 just for the spay alone. Okay, I'm rambling. I'm glad to say she seems to be doing fine. Thanks so much for all of your support, everyone! I appreciate it more than you know! It was a rough day for mom and I don't know how I would have gotten through it if I didn't have Yorkie Talk to come to!! |
