Found Yorkie in Chicago - missing one year? The post below is from Craigslist in Chicago. Sad that it took so long for all of these people to do the right thing. "We have a Male Yorkie that we found in March. Neighbors had him for about 3 months and were going to take him to shelter and he ran away. We found him in our yard. He has been missing for about a year. We have had him for about 7 months. He need his real owners. He comes to the name we call him and he is very sweet but he needs more attention and more bathroom trips outside. I hope his original owners dont give up. He was originally "found" by Fullerton and Cicero. We found him by Harlem and Diversey. He had no collar and no microchip. I recently got him microchipped and he got a 1 year rabies shot. The vet thinks he is 6 to 8 years old. He has a distinguishing hair like feature . He is beige tan and grey. I know that is a typical color pattern for a Yorkie." She's trying very hard to find the dog's real owner now - I'll be glad to forward her contact information to anyone who thinks that he could be their baby. Thanks, Eileen |
Bumping this thread up, I don't want it to get lost in the posts. It IS sad that it's taken so long for these people to do the right thing. What a grim reminder that there are people out there who will just keep your dog if it goes missing. They obviously aren't horrible people either, they've vet cared this Yorkie and are now looking for the owner. I'm just baffled, to me it's like keeping a lost child for yourself. It's just plain wrong. Thank you for posting this info. I sure hope this Yorkie finds it's real home again soon. |
I hope the original owner sees this and is reunited with their little boy. At least they did check for microchip. Another reason to do all we can to keep our babies safe and help someone find us if they go missing. Please think about getting your babies microchiped. |
found doggie My daughter's shih tzu jumped out of the car in a shopping center when she was helping her friend's crying baby into her car seat. With all the commotion, she didn't realize that she was gone until they had driven away. An employee of one of the stores saw a family pick the dog up before she could get back to get her. We called every vet, every humane society, posted a reward, nothing. They could have easily found the owner if they tried at all - and we would have gladly paid a reward so they could get a dog of their own, if that's what they wanted. I just don't understand people. |
Oh man this is HORRIBLE! How do these people think that after a year they are going to find the owners  I know some would never give up but WTH? :( |

I cannot believe this... Why do people think it is okay to keep other peoples' pets?! How is it any different than keeping someone's lost child? I hope they find the owners... they must be devastated to have lost their baby! :( |
