Stupid Question, I'm Sure, but... I'm filling out Galahad's PETtrac registration, and I'm not sure what color to put, lol. I always want to say he's silver and tan/gold, because he looks it, but would that be considered just blue and tan? Pictures from my album for reference. I still can't figure out how to make the little thumbnails show up, it just keeps telling me invalid file when I try to upload from my album. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/pic...ictureid=74242 http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/pic...ictureid=74241 http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/pic...ictureid=74246 Thank in advance for any help...I love this site! |
I'll wait for the others since I have no idea what I'm talking about. I just think your baby is adorable! So cute! (In my ignorance, I would saw blue and tan also, but I have no idea really.) |
I think he is Silver/Gold :D |
Do they call it blue and gold? I think that may be a color and since he has the black with the silver through his back I think they call it blue. Oh man. How about some breeders on here. They should know for sure. He's adorable by the way. Good Luck. Elaine |
From YTCA website Puppies are born black and tan and are normally darker in body color, showing an intermingling of black hair in the tan until they are matured. Color of hair on body and richness of tan on head and legs are of prime importance in adult dogs, to which the following color requirements apply: BLUE: Is a dark steel blue, not a silver blue and not mingled with fawn, bronzy or black hairs. TAN: All tan hair is darker at the roots than in the middle, shading to still lighter tan at the tips. There should be no sooty or black hair intermingled with any of the tan. |

There is a black and tan...which most of the time used by those that have soft-coated dogs..... Your pup is definately blue and gold with a very correct silk texture. |
Thanks everyone, I knew I'd get good answers here. Thanks also for the comments, I think my little Galahad is just gorgeous. :D I got his registration paperwork sent off, huzzah! I feel so much better knowing he's chipped now. Like, I knew he was mine, of course, but now he's really, truly, 100% mine. Is that silly or what? |

By the way he has a gorgeous color.......not light, but what is desired. His head furnishings will turn platinum then turn to gold...it'll take a couple of years before he makes the complete transformation. |
How long do they continue to change coloring? I ask because he's about 2 years old. |

I know my dogs come from a certain line that go very light, then turn to gold anywhere from 1 to 2 years of age. Not fun, especially with the Disqualification in the standard......you just have to wait it out. |
