Changing Colors I think that I have read this on here before, but I'm not sure. So sorry if this is a duplicate post. I was noticing Mollie over the weekend and she seems to be a couple of shades lighter now than she was before she had her babies. I'm don't know if it's just me. Even though my husband says she looks lighter to him as well. I guess this is possible. Have any of you that have breed your dogs noticed this same thing? |
after Gracie whelped, her new growth was coming in a couple of shades lighter. it has not started growing back to the blue that she originally was. but yes, bitches that have whelped several litters will get lighter with each litter. |
color That is why many show breeders do not breed their females until the ring career is over. |
Yes, My Bell is almost white since her litter!! |
We were told by our mentor that we would want to finish our girl before we bred her because she wouldn't "hold her coat". That has turned out to mean it's quite a bit lighter and I have to say it seems a bit coarser as well. I can't put my hands on the article, but there is some information out there on the net about hormones and how they relate to changes in coat color. CJ |
