Hair Bow Bandit Here's a question for all you YTers that have more than one furbaby....How in the world do you get boy yorkie (Rily) to leave the hair bow alone in girl yorkie's (Saydee) hair? I think the record time for her bow to remain intact is...uhh, 30 seconds....:confuse2: |
Haha.. I have no idea how to help you, but just picturing a little boy riping off a little girl's bow makes me chuckle :) |
LOL I can't get Bella Boo to leave her own bow in, so I'm no help! |
Well, I have six yorkies and I put bows in all their hair and my Rosey will get all the bows out of their hair in less than 1 hour. She makes herself guilty when she is the only one left with a bow in her hair!LOL |
HAHA how cute!! I dont have a solution...Dalilah is the same as your boy! she is able to get lorelai's out in no time! it makes me mad because lorelai will be oblivious that there is one in her hair until Dalilah starts to pull on it! |
i dont want to impose on your post at all.. im just kinda wondering what everyone uses for bows? our groomer gave us a little bow and we attach it with a rubber band.. but now its pulling her hair out and breaking the hair off... is that just something that happens?? |
Picturing this little scene makes me laugh too! So funny I imagine!! I am so jealous of those that have more than one Yorkie!!! |
Bows We wear bows all the time..s.tart out with jsut the rubberband for a few weeks then go to bows...by then it should stay in. |

I have only one girl with hairbows, I used to put them in the boys too but gave up, and cut them into puppy cuts. I spray the bow with Applebitters when I put it in her hair. As soon as they get a taste of that they leave it alone. Besides, Rita will take their face off:eek: if they pull her hair! |

But i dont have a solition to the problem, i told sharpie " Sharpie dont do that any more" and showed it to him but i know he does not learn with me saying it one time lol. |
I have the same problem! I will put a bow in Tinkerbell's hair and my male toy poodle, Bear, will tear it out! But he doesn't stop there, he will also undress her if she has an outfit on! I don't know why..... |

LOL! I hear that story all too often from my bow customers! It can be really challenging to keep bows in their hair when you have more than one. I have one customer who can't even dress her Maltese in hoodies as the baby sister (who is much bigger) will drag the older girl around by her hood! |

Ever since Roxie joined our family, Cali can no longer wear bows. If I put one in for photos or to take her out, Roxie has it out in 10 seconds. Roxie always keeps her bow in though!! I tried the colored scrunchies and she got those out to so I can only put clear rubber bands in. I tried spraying the bows with bitter apple and that didn't work either. |
This tread has got me laughing. All the work to get them pretty and they pull the bows out. Too funny. |
I use the little "scrunchy" ponytail holders for babies. That's Sadie's everyday look. It doesn't bother her at all. Whenever I put a bow with bands on it on her she messes with it and even if she doesn't get it out she messes up her hair. I recently made a bunch of bows and put alligator clips on them. That way I can dress her up with them and still use the scrunchies that don't break her hair or bother her. She still isn't crazy about the bows but they aren't on that much. Even if it's just for a walk or when we're going out in public, I can just clip one of the bows in with her scrunchie. If I had more than one, I'm sure it wouldn't work though. |
OMG, I am rolling on the floor! Just invisioning that... I can't keep a clip or soft band, for more thsn an hour, to heck with the bow stuff... |
I put Jada's up with the terry scrunchies too and Bogie pulls them out too, and if I put in a bow he has it pulled out and is chewing on it. I have never caught him in the act either...sooo sneaky. I can't even leave Jada's up and out of her eyes unless I am at home. I just gave up and leave it down unless I am home. |
