What age did your baby start sleeping with you Hi. I just got Chloe last week. She is now 13 weeks old. I have been putting her in her crate @ night and for a week she was fine. Now she is yelping for about 20 minutes before she settles down. My goal is to have her sleep with us. We have a 7 year old yorkie, (Cody) who already sleeps with us. At what age do you think she would be okay to start sleeping with us? also Cody is still standoffish with her. How long do you think it will be before he warms up to her? Sorry for the long post but know I will get great answers here |

Sherman started sleeping with us when all his brothers and sister went to their forever homes sooo I think he was about 13 maybe 14 weeks old. We take him out to potty at the very last minute before going to bed around 10 pm and then I am up early 5am and I take him immediately outside and he does poop and pee immediately. Sherman is a BIG puppy and seems to have no problem at all holding it till morning...but when Bella Mia was his age she would wake us up at least once during the night (by licking daddys face) to go pee outside. Neither dog has ever peed in the bed but then again they are never in the bed except to sleep never to play. |

Rily was around 4 months, Saydee still sleeps in her basket beside my bed. |
Right away! :D I had a previous who was a tiny one. I was afraid to stress her out, so the crate was out! Then when I got my Maggie I really didn't have an excuse ('cept I was In love w/her!). I let her sleep w/me right away! It was a mistake though. She would go to the bottom of the bed and pee because she was too small to jump down:eek: |
The first three weeks or so Sophie stayed in her crate at night. I guess she was about 3 1/2 to 4 months old and almost 4 lbs. when she started to sleep between us. She went out to go potty before bed at about 10 PM and out again when we get up between 4:30 and 5 AM and she still is on that schedule.:animal-pa |
Mia is still in her soft crate at night, she's 4 months now. But her crate is right on the bed... well it's more like a bag. She's happy, I can sleep without worrying she'll jump down or get rolled on, and potty training is still on track:p Good luck and remember every furbaby and human Mommy are different so you need to do what works best for you. But keep puppys safety at top priority! |
I want to say around 16 weeks old. I should have done it sooner tho! The minute I let him sleep in my bed... he began sleeping thru the night. |
Lucky is the same as Bailey...lol!! All night long he is bringing treats and balls up the ramp and then digging in between our pillows(while we sleep) trying to hide the stuff!! Back a little while ago I was watching him collect all his balls and bringing them in the bathroom.....I was curious as to what was going on until I peeked in at him.....he was plopping his balls one by one into the toilet !!!! I think he liked the sound of the plop from the water!! I couldn't get mad because it was soooo cute! The first thing I done was call my mom and told her....she laughed for the longest time at that! That one has to be about the oddest thing he's done yet! I have to say Lucky has been sleeping with me since 3 months old! |
Luna has been sleeping with me since day one. I don't really have to worry about her size and crushing her because when I sleep I just don't move lol! But really I wouldn't worry about it anyways, they will get out of the way before getting hurt too badly. |
Chloe has been sleeping with us since we brought her home. She whines if she wants to go down. Yes, we did have a couple of accidents in the bed but only 2-3. Now she sleeps on my head, curled up in my hair. |

This is OUR problem! My baby is 3 months old and we let her sleep with us a few nights. However, she would wake up and pee/poo at the end of the bed. We put a cat bell on her so we could hear her, but that only kept us up all night. She's in her crate now from 10pm-5am, no accidents. I take her out to potty and then she gets to sleep in our bed til we wake up. I just can't afford to dry clean my down comforter so often! |

There are two things to think about when sleeping with puppies when they are really little be careful you might roll over on them and hurt them the other thing .... until they or you are certain they can hold their pee and bowels Might not be the brightest of ideas  |
I put Motley in bed with us from the first night. We put his bed between our pillows and he slept there. I sat my alarm to go off every two hours and took him out to potty:rolleyes:. It was a rough couple of weeks with no sleep[just like bringing a newborn home] but he was fully and completely trained right away. Now I can not sleep at night if he is not right there with me. |
Bella's been sleeping in my bed since about 13 weeks or so. I've never had any problems with her doing so and she's been really about going out to potty once we wake up. Recently the husband and I started making her sleep in her bed since we're expecting...except around 6am or so, she'll demand to be put on the bed and the husband always gives in :D |
