Puppy pee How do I get my puppy to stop peeing on a certain rug, he never has accidents anywhere else, except our dining room rug. He has maybe one accident a day at most...is there something I can spray on the rug??? Thanks Barry |

Why don't you get him some of those potty pads? They worked for us. We put them next to the door, then outside the door, then took them away. They were a great way to start for us, though. |
You can buy the stuff at PetCo or you can use half water/half white vinegar which is cheaper and works to remove the smell of urine. We use that and also Resolve for Pet Stains. If they smell the urine on the carpet, they will keep going back to the same spot. |
when HE/She go there try to catch him doing get a water bottle put some kind of beans in it and shake the hell out of it make real loud noise scare the poor puppy that may work ... its works for me |
Try putting a potty pad where he pees and each day move it closer and closer to where you want him to pee, eventually all the way to the door. |

This method might sound funny, but it's what our trainer told us to do. Just have to make sure they don't know it's YOU making the sound. |
I know it works for most dogs but Tucket NEVER responded to the pennies in a can trick :D so if it doesn't work for your dog, keep trying until something does. Tucket is a strange little thing. Doesn't flinch much at anything. |
Until you get the rug cleaned and spray it with a deodorizing cleaner |
Is it always the same spot? If so, something that worked for me, is to lay a big sheet of aluminum foil on the carpet over that spot. The dogs do not like the feel or the sound of the foil. If you have cats, this also works for them too! |
it's cause he smells the urine from past accidents, so he figures it's ok to do so again. there are all sorts of pet stain removers, and those work pretty well. Just to be safe, I always spray a bit of febreeze for pets over the top, to make sure the scent is gone. Works wonders for me and my two unfixed boys! |
