I would reinforce what everyone has said regarding Chicken Remy is a case in point. He also became very itchy... I have since eliminated all chicken and beef from his diet. Big difference. He eats NV Raw - Rabbit, Lamb, Venison proteins. Occasionally when I still homecook, I give him fresh salmon, he also likes rock fish (striped bass), or buffalo. One final comment. I used to use BioGroom oatmeal shampoo thinking this was best for his skin. I have to say, I think it made the issue worse. I now only use shampoos that are made from natural oils (example: Dog Whisperer Natural Dog Shampoo Chamomile / Lavender... this is not the only brand, but it is a good example and among those I've used). These shampoos have little "sudsing" action for those of you that may love the suds... but for Remy the natural oil shampoos seem to be much better for his skin. Also, I do an apple cider vinegar rinse on him Good luck! |

Your baby appears to be allergic to chicken....then as stated above it could very well be the shampoo your using....try a good medicated shampoo from your vet....make sure you rinse shampoo out thorougly, then rinse again with a 1 part vinegar to 10 parts water rinse..... |
chester has allergies to the enviroment, usually if has been given the temaril p if it helps, then it is the enviroment not the food. I use salmon oil on his wet food and that has helped, I use the all free and clear for laundry, bounce with no perfumes and dyes, more frequent bathing if it is the enviroment helps and apple cider vinegar mixed with water will help, anything with corn, soy and wheat are the big allergens and flea bites as well. |
If none of the good suggestions above help I would go to a dermatologist and see what they can offer. My Cali had terrible itching and after doing the allergy blood testing which showed up nothing and the food elimination diet they put her on a medicine called Atopica and she is scratch free and her coat has completely grown back in. I would only do it if all else fails. I hope you can get him some relief it is so hard to see them so miserable. |
I haven't given him any chicken and I'm just waiting to see if it will help. I wanted to try fish but I didn't know what would be a good fish for him to eat. I usually stick to just lean meats. What kind of fish is good for him? |
