Adding another one to the family Hi all, I got Snickers back in July and we love him so much my husband has decided to get me and early Christmas present.. If everything goes ok next Saturday I will be picking up Coco his new sister/playmate.. Any suggestions on bringing a new dog home. Snickers is 7 months, he is very well socalized he gets along with all the dogs we meet when we walk. The only dog he doesn't get along with is my friends new Pomeranian pupppy she is kind of snippy though.. He is a very good natured dog hardly ever barks.. He is rather large for a yorkie he is 9lbs.. The puppy will be 8 weeks old and she is looking pretty tiny compared to him lol.. Any advice is greatly appreciated.. |
Congratulations. Sounds like Snickers will make a great big brother. I have brought in several yorkies and I just monitor then together until I know they get along (usually very quickly) and crate or confine the new puppy when I am gone or can't watch her. IN no time they will be snuggle buddies. |
Congratulations on the new addition. If the pup will be 8 weeks old, this is too young to bring home. I just added a 3 pound pup (5 months) to a pack of two 7 & 9 pound Yorkies. They get along great, but play can be rough. The pup is the instigator, & I'm always concerned that he'll be accidentally hurt. So, you need to watch them closely, except of course when the pups in her crate. |
