Question! & HELP Dont think it serious but... 1 Attachment(s) Okay so this is not about my yorkie, its about my other dog, sharpie, he is a non-yorkie. Sharpie is a beagle/pekignese mix. My question is as follows, the other day he started doing this thing were it looks like he is shivering but just his lips, they do what people do when they are cold, now i live in southwest florida so its not cold most of the time and it was not windy... is this normal? What are some recommendations? should i be worried? he is acting normal, eats very well, plays alot, is spunky and lovable.. i dont see any different in his bahavior patterns? Please let me know if you guys have heard of this happening. You can see pictures of him in my album :) bu i have attached ones from when he was smaller :) |
Aww he is a doll!! Peanut does the thing you are talking about when we are playing and I am throwing his toy for him, and he wants it really bad, he will start to shiver his lip and his tounge will move.. hard to explain.. |
is the puppy a little lethargic or acting sickly in any way. my first thought was that it could be hypoglycemia making him shiver. if there is lethargy or other signs of low blood sugar, try some puppy Nutrical or karo syrup...otherwise if he's acting normal other than the lips i wouldn't worry too much, you might call the vet and just ask, never hurts to call and ask, my vets i'm sure get sick of me "asking" but i have to know if it's okay or not, i'm a worry wort and a new mommy to my pup so i want to make sure i never miss anything important. |
Ive heard of breeder dogs doing that when a female was in heat |
I have seen mine do that when they are super excited. It's like a quivering lips. |
I have seen dogs do this when they smell something they really really like. I have also seen dogs do this when they had a little tickle on their lips or whiskers. |
Thank you Thank you all for your help, i didnt think it was something serious but its best to know if this is common amongs other dogs. He is 1 year old already but still acts like a little puppy, he always wants to play and run lol :). if this persist however i will call the vet to keep it safe. Thanks once more :D |
