Hi I'm New Hi everyone!! We are the new parents of a 1lb 2oz, nine week old, baby boy named Chachi. He is just precious as can be. I have learned so much from this forum and wondered if anyone has any tips for new owners. Thank you - Chachi's Mom |
Hi Chachi and welcome to Yorkie Talk. I am sure your thread will be posted with so many great ideas on your new little one. Congrats on your new little boy, he is adorable. Other than giving him lots of hugs and kisses good things to have for a new little one is a suppliment called Nutrical. It keeps their sugar levels maintained in prevention of Hypoglycemia. Don't over play your little one, they need so many puppy naps, this too makes their sugar levels wig out with a lot of energy being used. Healthy kibbles, fresh water not using a blastic dish, crates for training and safe confinement, safe toys, toothbrush/paste for doggies, puppy shampoos/conditioners, his own little bed, is very useful also. A harness and leash to keep them safe outdoors. (hawks and other prey can see little Yorkies high above in that big blue sky) A vet you can trust with his number handy next to your 911# is a big plus. I personally have found that I have waisted a lot of time searching for my vet's number in a mad dash of panic trying to get a hold of him. I hope this gives you a little help and again a warm welcome to you and Chachi. If you can post some pics, oh we love looking at pictures here. |
Reply to Tips Thanks for the tips. I am glad to hear about the nutrical. My vet said it does not prevent low blood sugar but I was insistant that I was going to give it to him as a preventative because I have read from so many breeders to do this. I dont have any hawks locally, I live in the city but I don't plan on leaving Chachi in our yard unattended. My husband's going to help me to put up more pictures later today. Thanks for replying. I just love this forum. |
Welcome to this board. This board great. There are so many great people here. I have learned so much since I been here. I do not know what else to say. I think schatzie has given some great advise. |
Welcome to Yorkie Talk and congratulations on your new baby!! :) I have a new one as well (13 weeks old) I think there are a lot of people on here right now who have babies who were born around the same time, so we can go through this together ;) And, of course, we LOVE pictures!! |
