I don't know if it was me? But I had an experience exactly the same last year (July). I boarded my 3 yorkies in a Luxury Suite so all 3 could be together and since it was at my at my vets facility and I had boarded there before I was really comfortable with it. But, it was the first time for Baby Zoey, she is 2 1/2 lbs and usually travels with me and I was only leaving her for 4 days. Well, when I picked them up and brought them home I noticed that she wasn't her usual self. Hiding in my closet, didn't want anything to do with me or her brother or sister which wasn't like her at all. For 3 weeks straight I was going back and forth to the vet trying to find out what was wrong with her. First they said it was colitis, stress from being boarded. Then it was a bacterial infection. Then it was pink eye. After getting the run around from all the vets I finally insisted on seeing my Vet. It was so frustrating trying to explain how my baby was acting and I know they thought I was crazy because I kept telling them that she was acting exactly like Eyore from Winnie The Poo!!! When I finally saw my vet and he asked me to start at the beginning and once I told him she was Eyore he finally knew exactly what I was trying from the beginning to explain to everyone! How I love my vet!! He asked me if I had droped her or if she jumped off a sofa. Since she is so tiny she doesnt jump on anything and I have never dropped her we came to the conclusion that it must have happened when she was boarded. It was a neck injury and she was put on steroids for a week and if that didnt work, We would take x-rays. Well, it did work and within 2 days she was back to herself. And because he felt so bad over all the visits and mis-diagnosis he didn't charge me. I was beginning to feel like I had Munchhousen by Proxy. It just goes to show that we are the only ones who really know our babies and when they are not feeling well, we are the only ones who can help them no matter what it takes. And if it means being a pain in the A_ _ Oh well, so be it. |
:goodpost:Very insightful LuluMaye. We do instinctively know if something is terribly wrong. |
