Yorkie Shadows It is so funny, when I am home Chloe and Fiona have to go every where I go, examples: to the bathroom-if I do not let them in they will scratch the door and whine. They will sit out there until I open the door. Also the shower they will literally follow me in! They must be next to me at all times. When I leave for work I swear Chloe would chase my car if she were allowed to. She always looks at me expecting me to come back and get her. When I am on the computer she is next to me or actually on the desk with the computer. Chloe follows me to the basement to do laundry. They especially have to sleep either on top of me on my pillow or snuggled next to me in bed. My fiance experiences the same to a lesser extent when I am not home but once they hear me pull into the driveway they for the most part want nothing to do with him. Does anyone else have this happen to them. |
Same here! Kaji would follow me to the ends of the earth if I let him. I was weirded out by the bathroom thing but now I just tell myself, "I watch him pee... He's just trying to justify it." Plus, he figured out how to open the shower door. I tried to keep him out, he just tried that much harder to get in. |
ahhh the gentle scratching of our little lovers!!! |
yea......Brandi follows me everywhere even when she can barely keep her little eyes open. I swear sometimes she gives me a look like " can't you just sit still for a minute and let me get some sleep" :p. as she is begrudginly following me. Lately however, whenever I go to the kitchen at night, she doesn't follow me like she used too. Her bedtime is 10:00pm everynight no matter what. I think she knows when I am coming right back to bed. Most of the time, however she is my shadow. Now even my cat is becoming like this. It's funny, I have the dog and the cat following me around. And now even when I sleep, the cat wants in on the act. They both have to sleep with me. But cats are different....they don't sleep as hard as dogs and Zoey is always walking all over me and Brandi all night long. |
Two of mine are like that & stick to me like glue. Even when I have a bath Button stands with his little front paws up on the edge all the time I'm in there. I'm told by my husband that whenever I have to go out without them, to the supermarket or such, they sit behind the front door through which I've left all the time till I return. Nothing, food, treats, toys will lure them away. Makes me feel very guilty! xx Meggie |

Exact same thing at my house!! If I'm not home she will follow my fiancee too. But usually she will whine for me for a little bit then start to follow daddy around! |
Yep we have only had Kingston for a week and 3 days but he diffenetly follows me everywhere I thought I would leave him on the main floor while I do laundry but at 12 weeks mastered the stairs just to be with me LOL I'm only gone for 5 minutes but to him it's forever |
:aimeeyork My baby follows me so much, his name is actually Shadow. I'm so used to it now, if he's not right next to me, I start calling for him. :) |
its funny mines follow me around the house as well. I am a male so when I go to the bathroom I ask myself should I let her see me pee lol she might jump up and want to bite! |

Jax follows us everywhere. Mostly mommy though. Even when he's fast asleep he hears mommy get up and walk away, he'll get up and follow her. If we don't let him in the bathroom he sits right in front of the door until you come out and he lays outside the shower as well and when he hears the water turn off he's got his little front paws up on the edge standing and waiting. |
Yep, Shanya does the same, especially the bathroom. If I shut the door, she literly body slams it until she can get in. And when I leave for work or errends she jumps up and down and stares to take her too. Love these fuzbuts. She ignores my DH except in bed, where she must snuggle and lick him to death before he goes to sleep, but if he gets up before me in the morning he will take her outside to do her business and she won't stay with him, she has to come back to bed with me. Such babies.. |
I say sooo many times to Lucky "Mommy should have called you Shadow"....he just looks at me as if to say' I know mommy!!' |
My kids are the same way, and I just love it. |
Uni doesn't really do it anymore. As soon as she sees another person or dog she forgets all about me :( But when she was a baby, I remember she couldn't get up the stairs by herself yet. I was getting ready to go to work, and I brought her downstairs with me, but I forgot something upstairs. So went upstairs left her down stairs, and I heard her crying and crying for me. I go back down the stairs and I see she has gone up 3 steps. How did she do it? So I call her to try to go up one more step. She swats her front paws down onto the step ahead digging her claws in the carpet and puuuuuullllllls herself up all the while crying! She didn't want to be alone! It was soooo cute! |
Yes mine follow me 24/7. I use to have Yorkie shadows are the best under my username on the left. dont know why its not there now. |

Galahad follows me everywhere too. I tell people that I potty with an entourage, because I have 3 kids, two cats and a dog that follow me everywhere I go, lol! |
I have 3 yorkies and Rosco is my shadow. When I am taking a bath he jumps and sits on the side of tub and just waits for me to get out. If he is alseep and I leave the room here he comes to follow me. My husband said when I run errands he will sit at the door and whine and bark til I get back. He has to be touching me when he takes a nap. If I am walking in the house and stop he will stop. When I start to walk again he walks. Sometimes I think he is obsessed with me:rolleyes: |

Max also waits at the baby gate when I go to the second floor of the house. He stands there no matter how long I am gone. Nothing will budge him from his vigil. |
George follows me everywhere at home and at work, I think I suffer from seperation anxiety more than him, for some reason he wont push doors etc open so he just waits outside bathroom and moans till I open door a bit, as long as he can see me everythings OK. If I go out he sticks to Daddy like glue I should have called him Velcro |
When I'm home, Chloe wants to be in my lap even if that lap is up walking around! If I do sit down and she can't get to me (like at the computer) she just bounces up and down next to me until I pick her up. When I go into the bathroom and shut the door, she sticks her little nose and one paw under the gap between the door & the floor (it's about 2 inches wide). She'll stay just like that, not moving or whining or anything, until I come out. It's hard to find anything cuter than a little Yorkie nose peeking under the door at you! -C |

Yes it's impossible to roll over when a Yorkie is between your knees. lol When I close the bathroom door she sniffs under it, when I get out of the shower I hear her and can't believe such a small nose can make such a loud sniffing sound. It's like she's trying to suck me under the door to get me out. |
Buddy does the same. He shadows his mom when we are both home. When I am home alone (his mom works nights), he follows me everywhere, too. He opens the bathroom door and comes right in. Most of the time, if my wife stays up late, and I go to bed, he comes with me. He has to have someone in bed with him, and I think he likes to sleep closer to me because I sleep a lot warmer than my wife. I love it. I think it is hilarious! I do call him a wuss when he goes after his mom...like he is scared to be without her for one second. The wife usually scolds me... |
AWWW... Brinks is the same way. He follows me everywhere and when I stop in my tracks he stops and looks at me like "what now mommy?" My boyfriend says when I leave in the mornings Brinks will sit at the dor for over 20 mins. just barking... poor thing... I wish I could let him follow me to work. |
