Do they ever slow down? Scooter is 2 1/2 and we were expecting him to slow down and not take life so fast as he got older, but...... He attacks everything head on. He has to be there first, he has to begin eating and end eating first, he has to be faster than Bitsy etc., etc., etc. He's not what you call nervous or hyper, he simply lives life to the fullest. He races out the door and often smashes head first into the screen door. He tries to beat Bitsy to a toy in the living room and clips his side on the corner of the wall. I really worry that he will break his neck someday. Anyone else dealing with a super fast Yorkie? |
NO:D Bonnie is only 13 months old. I hope she slows down and gets a little more "girly" |
lol- Layla is all full force or not at all- not so much when it comes to food- but pretty much everything else- playing ball- protecting the house- greeting people. I think it is great- it reminds me to live life full force aswell :) |
Couver is also 13 months... and I don't think he has slowed down at all  I enjoy his zest for life :) I don't ever want him to slow down! |
Well Teddy will be one on Nov 20th and he has not slowed down at all! He is all boy!! |
lol ~ He sounds like our youngest son when he was growing up! Ya have to admire that zest for life, but omg how exhausting! There were always lots of laughs & frustration. Roxy's not quite that energetic, but I have to love every bit of what she has. |
Snickers just turned 6 and hasn't slowed down one bit. He has to be first with everything, plowing through poor Baxter along the way. Baxter is 5 and the two of them are constantly competing to be first at food, first out the door, first to greet visitors, ....you get the picture. So no, mine haven't slowed down at all. And my house is bedlam. :) |
slowing down Belle is a Morkie with her Yorkie mama's attitude and everything else. I keep hoping she will at least slow down a little. She just turned 1 yr. and I keep shaking my head wondering where is my adorable cuddly little girly girl that I dreamed of:confused: She does what the Maltese call are zoomies, do the Yorkie people call it that too? We have several going on per day here, we just stand back and stay out of her way but I do worry about her hurting herself as fast as she goes. He brother (11 yr old lab) just goes and hides as she likes to use him as a spring board:eek: |
Well, I hope that at 2 1/2 Nikko will have slowed down a little more. But right now at somewhere around 1 year and a few months, he can still out-energy every dog he's ever met - including a 9 month old 10lb puppy and several other yorkies of all ages. However, amazingly, I will say that he's actually slowed down and relaxed quite a bit compared to his 6-9 month old self. |
