Need help!!! Kind of with the quickness! OK so here is the situation... I dog sit people dogs sometimes and I had the pleasure up dog sitting one of my Alice's sisters... I was brushing her like I do everynight and I noticed that her sister had matts on her tummy... I know they love their puppy i can tell they take her to the groomers and get her hair cut.... but I dont know how to tell them when they pick up their dog tonight how to brush her better or if they even know... I know that if someone told me I wasnt taking care of my baby properly I might get upset... unless they said it the right way... any ideas how best to tell them they are not brushing her properly... I got all the matts out (and it was pretty bad, on her tummy and legs) or should i not say anything since i got them out.... or maybe their baby just getts matts every day? I dont know need advice please!!! |
I would ask them how they brush her and then tell them you got some mates out and where hopfully just being aware of the problem will solve it just approch it with a smile to try and make them more confertable |

It's very easy. Just tell them that while brushing their puppy you noticed several matts on her tummy (pups do get matts). Ask them if they brush her every night and what brushes they use. I usually tell my clients how difficult it is on the puppy to work out matts, how painful it is, if not done properly and the possibility exits that when the pup is taken to the groomer they'll shave the puppy down. Some people just don't know or they are afraid of hurting their pup, until you explain the alternatives.....show them how. |
I would ask who their groomer is, and when was the last time she got groomed ... bc you found her tummy matted when you combed her out. If it was days ago, maybe the groomer didn't do a good job, suggest another. But if dog is matted between groomings, just explain they should brush inbetween groomings or have her groomed more frequently. |
