Morale support or head shots please! So I have grown out Eva's face hair. Thing is it still won't sit down and fills her eyes hourly. I am picking it and goopy balls out several times a day. I keep the top tied up but the hair parted down her snout under her eyes just pops up and goes in her eyes. It is long, hangs below her chin. I don't want to gel it, besides if I have to gel it at this length won't i be doing it forever? I will take morale support to hang in there or if anyone has any close head shots they could share of their babies with a nice face trim it would be greatly appreciated? If I can find a pic that I think I can do I may just break down an trim her. Thanks all. |
I'm in the same boat! Help us out PEOPLE....or I'm going to give up too, and pull out the trimmers. |
3rd one on the boat! any suggestions out there? |
Well guys looks like we're all alone lol! I had to wet and comb Eva's face out 3 times yesturday and it was still a mess most of the day. I managed to find some old posts from 2007 with some encouraging words, so kept the scizzors off of her for another weekend! What about using vaseline near the eyes? I think it would be safer than the commonly recommended ky jelly? Anyone out there just use a dab of Vaseline to keep the hair down? |
I am in the same boat too. Some days it is so tempting to just shave her nose. But I just keep hanging in there.I also cut those wirey hairs and that helps thing lay a tad better but if you look at her from the side it is like her nose hair just wants to poof upward and not lay flat! And I have been growing hers out for 2 1/2 years!Help! |
Sorry not much help from me - I just gave up and shaved her nose - she is much more confortable this way. Besides, she used to run and hide the minute she would see me coming with the comb. :D |
Yup, mine hangs in their eyes too. The groomer just takes the clippers and cuts the whole thing off. It doesn't look bad. I would have cut it a little less short and fanned it right over his nose. |
Heres my 6 mo old Fritz. I've just been letting it grow. Even though it covers most of his face, it doesn't really get in his eyes. He doesn't have any problems seeing either. Good luck guys! http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3.../FritzFace.jpg |
I think if you are planning on growing out the hair on the longer side, please hold off cutting it! Once it gets long enough it will lay down flat. I used to trim Uni's hairs at the inner corners of the eyes. But once it started to grow out a bit, it was really scary to try trimming off those hairs, all the while trying not to poke her eye out, and not get any of the hairs in her eyeballs! Sorry I don't have a good closeup pic of her eyeballs. |

what a sweetie...If we don't tie up Eva's she looks like a little mini sheep dog. It looks so funny but she can't see her toys LOL. The thing is, her hair IS really long. It seems like between the silky Yorkie hair she has this beautiful maltese cottony hair. The cotton seems to float all over the place and lift up the silky hairs and she becomes a sheep dog! Oh she is just so cute. |
1 Attachment(s) I don't know exactly what you are looking for but here is a picture of a pup that had just been groomed. This was a little fella I owned several years ago and I took him to a groomer. You can see the bangs are cut and the face rounded. |
I'm having the same problem. I wanted to grow the hair out, but it keeps poking into the girls eyes. I'm really considering shaving down the nose, any other way to keep it from getting into thier eyes? |
Petsilk topknot gel works perfectly for this, I could have never grown Joey's forehead/nose hair out without it. I've never seen another product like it and I love it. You just use a little dab, and it keeps those pesky hairs in place and out of the eyes. I got mine on Ebay, but lots of online places sell it. |

I gave up and trim the hair by their eyes every couple of weeks. |
