girls, Maya and Lily, that are 11 1/2 weeks old. I went to the vet last thursday and they had [COLOR=green !important][COLOR=green !important]kennel[/COLOR][/COLOR] cough drops done as well as ear [COLOR=green !important][COLOR=green !important]cleaning[/COLOR][/COLOR], and they received an antybiotic because they have [COLOR=green !important][COLOR=green !important]ear [COLOR=green !important]mites[/COLOR][/COLOR][/COLOR]. I can't remember the name of the antibiotic but it started with icy.. something (I think). Anyways, Maya is doing great. But I'm concearned about Lily. Since Friday she vomites once a day usually at night between 4-6am. I'm so sorry for being gross... The vomit is a little bit of watery sustance and it has yellowish color. It it a foam look a like watery substance - no food. She eats regularly, no diarrhea, has lots of energy. I called the vet to find out if this could be a reason of any antybiotic or dewormer [COLOR=green !important][COLOR=green !important]side [COLOR=green !important]effects[/COLOR][/COLOR][/COLOR] but they said no. Before I got those two girls, I had a 4 year old yorkie girl that was hit by a car. She had the same thing. Out of no where she would vomit that yellowish water substance for few days and then it would not come back for a while... Could this be dehydration or from food ??? I feed them twice a day with Ceasar for puppies and they have Royal Canin Minidog dry food in a bow at all times in case they get hungry when I'm not at home. I noticed that after she gags and a little of that foam comes out she looks like she doesn't know what happened and she calms down a little and goes to sleep. Could this be something serious???
Has anyone had simular [COLOR=green !important][COLOR=green !important]symptoms[/COLOR][/COLOR]??? Please help, I'm going nuts here... Thanks...

I have read on here several times that they are probably hungry if this is happening 4 -6 am and they will vomit like that. Some on here say they will give them a treat during the night to tide them over. Anyone please correct me if I am wrong for I have not experienced this with my dogs. I have seen it on several posts. Hope this helps.

Also check out the Health & Diet section on here. I've heard of several who used Cesar's food who had no luck with it at all. There are several real good foods to work with. What works well with one yorkie doesn't work at all for another. Unfortunate, but true. Good luck!

My dog sometimes has this too. It is small puddles of liquid. I never thought of it as a serious problem, just that maybe he wasn't feeling well and didn't eat anything so he threw up bile. I think the bile is the yellowy stuff and it's foamy as he hasn't eaten anything. He will accept a treat after and drink water ... I am not sure what it is. I don't think it's serious, but I can't be sure. Looking forward to hearing some other answers.

Two of my Yorkies have had these symptoms (yellow vomit or bile early in the AM) in the past. I posted here and someone recommended Activa yogurt. About a tablespoon full per day. I give this to both of my current yorksters and they love it and it seems to have worked.

I did post under Sick and I apologize for double posting...An updated - Lily ate her evening portion of food and she vomit again this time the whole food, but before that she was playing with Maya and went to sleep. I'm assuming she threw up because she was jumping all over the place. After that she went back to get more food and now she is fine. Someone posted on the other thread that they do that because they are hungry, and that they are only 11 1/2 weeks they should be given food 4 times a day.
I can't belive the Vet nurse told me to stop giving her wet food and only give her dry food 3 times a day. I don't think that is enough. I have been giving them Ceasar for puppies - one can per both puppies. Lily is 2.5 lbs and Maya is 2 lbs. Can anyone tell me how much food they should be given? On the Ceasar pack it says 3/4-2 trays per 5 lbs of body weight twice a day so I've been giving them half a tray each twice a day... Please note that I have dry food for them at all times incase they want to eat when I'm not around. Also, the vet nurse told me that I should only be giving dry food (currently using Royal Canin Minidog) to help their teeth grow. I'm assuming she is right but for babies that are so young I think dry food in not enough. Is there another good canned food for puppies that you guys would recommend ??? Please help. I want to make sure my girls are getting the right amount of food and are not getting sick. Thanks everyone :)

When Roxy was that young, I free fed her. I measured out a days portion & let her eat when she wanted. She was a nibbler. Only ate 2-3 pieces at a time all through the day. By the end of the day, her bowl still had food left, but her stomach was never real empty. Many yorkies are nibblers. You might want to try that approach for awhile & see if that helps. After she was several months old I started working her to 2 feedings a day.

We got Roxy at 11 weeks & I gave her wet food for several weeks. After a couple weeks I offered her both soaked & hard. Yes her teeth are growing & chewing helps, but with that teething comes sore gums. The soft food helps them to eat without so much pain. They can chew on hard food & toys as they want to. I would follow the package directions on the amount. However, Roxy never ate that much & still doesn't. Her weight has been good the whole time.

Remember that everyone has different opinions... even Drs & nurses. What you want to do is find the ways that work for her. Keep at it & you'll get it figured out. Continue to read the forums & keep on learning... even when you get to the point of total confusion. You will get through it!

This was my first thought too, that the pup needs food. I would do more meals throughout the day, stay with consistent times to help with pottying but like maybe do 4 feedings? hope things improve

I agree with the fact that it sounds like an empty stomach. I went through this with Roxie too. She usually eats a snack around 9 or 10 and is fine. You could also give a little yogurt too. Anytime an animal or human is on medicine, the tummy can also be more sensitive then usual.

Free feeding works for us too. My Roxie isn't a big eater at one time either. Just a nibbler. Your method is pretty much the same as what I did with Roxie.

could you perhaps try a better food for them, like wellness puppy? Maybe she is having problems with digesting the cesars??? Wellness makes a great wet food!! Probally way better quality also!
