Does your Yorkie hump things? people? Sorry, graphic question. Just wondering...... |
He did pre-neuter. Neutering young enough should stop or slow down the behavior. As a puppy, I used to let him hump his stuffed bear, lol. But never people or other dogs, he never has and never will. It is a behavior that should be corrected but if they are young and unneutered, it's natural to them.... |

I brought Bailey home at 9 weeks, and he wasn`t even a pound, he started humping a toy that very day he arrived:eek: I even posted about it, but was told he was just showing dominace over the toy:D He was neutered on Oct 9th, and I haven`t seen him hump anything in at least 2 weeks, it always made me chuckle though:) |
Not sure if its normal for female dogs but Lola will try and hump my arm to show her dominance every now and then. I tell her no and stand up and walk away. It only happens when I have something in my hand and not paying attention to her, she will lock her arms around my hand and start humping. |

My bf`s female dog Shylah will somtimes try to hump his larger more submissive female. Shylah is the alpha female and she makes sure the other one doesn`t forget it. |

Uni, who is a girl, and not YET spayed, used to hump one and only one thing. Her very first leopard print bed. She would hold onto the corner with her mouth and go at it. She tore open the corners and all the fluff came out. MIL finally threw it away. i thought it was funny. I bought her a new bed to hump and she never did it! |
I have a boy and girl Yorkie. Buster will be two next month and he will hump Maggie, who is one, when I put her harness and leash on her when we are going out for a walk. He will also hump her when they are both in the car seat when we are in the car. He was neutered at 6 months or less, same thing for Maggie. I don't know what the harness and leash have to do with it, maybe because she can't run as fast??? I tell him NO, I don't want him humping her, I have heard it's not a sexual thing but a sign of dominance which is funny as I think she is the dominant one. |
chester humps a couple of toys but not people, he got fixed at 6 months |
Daisy does not hump, but lifts her leg to pee (left leg only) on telephone poles and corners of buildings! But I did have a little cockapoo once that loved to hump my husband's shoes--only when they were on him and he crossed his leg. She would wait every morning by his side for him to put on his shoes! She would look at the shoes, then at him, then back at the shoes until he put them on! |
I thought getting Sophie spayed would prevent us from seeing that behavior, but I guess not, because she's starting to hump my daughter's arms!!! |
Oh my gosh, my female did that with everything after her spay and it must have gone on for over a week. My husband wanted me to call the vet and ask if there was something wrong with her ...I was like, I am not calling the vet with that question...lol!! She stopped doing it but it was strange... |
Lucky will hump my leg if I am sat down ...sometimes! When I asked the vet about it he just said that it's not sexual because it's only me he does this to....it's more like he is showing ownership of me...like that's MY mommy! lol I am having him neutered after Xmas and this prolly will stop! If it was a sexual thing, he would do it to his toys and other people....which he don't. |
Annie, my parents' 3-year-old Yorkie was a fairly consistent leg-humper before she got spayed nine months ago. (We got her a year ago, previous owners couldn't afford to spay her so she's been through heat at least once that we know of-- dunno if that is relevant). She mostly stopped but usually goes for my leg at least once whenever I'm home for a visit because I was the most permissive about it when she was all over the place. Actually I still don't see a problem with it. It's funny to me. Especially the way she gets frustrated and barks when I move my leg so she can't get at it :) |
Galahad humped in the first week. He's not neutered yet (will be in the next couple of months), and in the first week he humped several people. These included my 2 year old daughter (he was ALL about her the first 2 days and she hated it), my sister, my best friend and both of her daughters, and my neighbor friend, lol. Each time he did it I told him no, and he fully stopped after that first week. |
