When do Yorkies stop growing?? I know this probably has been asked before, but when did your Yorkie stop growing? Abby is 7 months and I'm hoping shes not going to weigh much more. (7lbs) |
Timba is 3 yrs. old and he is about 7lbs. he eats like a hog so I hope he doesnt get any fatter... |
Nolee pretty much stopped around 2 years old! He has been between 9 & 10 lbs for around a year or so! |
Sophie didn't gain any weight at all between 6-8 months, and now has put on a few ounces now that she's almost 9 months old. Seems like she's filling out some! |
Tiki pretty much stopped by 9 months, then put on a few oz. after spay at 14 months, and topped out at 7# 2oz. now 19 months. She went thru spurts of short stalky, to taller/longer and thin during the first year. |

Many books say that Yorkies are full grown at 8 months. Reading previous threads, I learned that some Yorkies continue to grow until age 2. |
I never realized yorkies had such LONG legs, shes my first yorkie, I've always had maltese and I thought they had similar body shapes, ,maybe Abby is just a leggy yorkie......lol shes long and lean! |

Some of the exhibitors in the show section of this forum describe the long-leg variety as "elegant." I agree with that description -- the long legs can make for a beautiful gait. :) |
Hi my Dustie is 8 months old next week...and about 3 lbs...but he is long legged....well just tall...He stands about 9" from the ground...My hubby calls him a Giraffe..:D Trouble is he likes to use them long legs for jumping now...and if he keeps on it may get him into big trouble soon:eek: Chris.. |
My little Lily is about two and a half pounds. She hasn't really gained much weight the past month and a half. She is now eleven months old. I too am wondering when she will she be finished growing? |
Joey quit growing around a year old, and Tank hasn't really grown since he was about 10 months old. |
