New yorkie owner, sugar in water? I am the proud parent of a 10 week old male yorkie named Keno, Ive had him for about 2 weeks now and i am already in love with him, I work during the day but im home by 230, so i just keep him in a play pin with all the thinks he needs, he is a very happy and energetic puppy, i have read up on yorkies before i bought him and i read something about adding sugar to the water because they tend to have low blood sugars, but im not sure what they mean by this, do i put it in the water everday? He has never not wanted to eat and uses the bathroom a few times a day, the only time he starts to shake is when he is nervous. If anyone had an answer to please please let me know, thank you! |
Congratulations!! I wouldn't put sugar in the water. As long as he is eating regularly and showing no sign of low sugar he should be fine. I would have Nutrical on hand or some Karo syrup. Does he have food down while you are gone? |
Yeah i make sure he has plenty of food, and water, the play pin is pretty big so its big enough to keep his bed, blanket, toys, food, and puppy pad. |
Sounds like he should be fine. I used the same set up for Cali and it worked great. |
he doesn't mind it at all, but when he seems me he wants out of it fast. Im really surprised he is almost 100% puppy pad trained, i took another members advice and stopped giving him food after & and it help with him not go to the bathroom at night, now he can sleep in my bed with me again. |
