Do I need a health certificate? Kaji and I will be traveling to TN this Thanksgiving. I have my plane ticket, he has his reservation and a brand new Alex bag. (which I need to take pics of) I'm wondring what else will we be needing? It's only for a few days, we'll be flying out Thursday (12 am) and be back by Sunday. Will I be needing a health certificate? |
Don't Leave Home Without It! Hi, Yes you will. Sometimes they ask for it at check-in and other times they don't. If they ask and you don't have one they won't let you on the plane. You also need proof of rabies shot if you are traveling outside of your home state. The health certificate is only good for 14 days. Hope this helps. Have a great trip! Also did you register/reservation your dog with your airline. They limit the number of dogs/cats on a flight and there is a special number to call to do this. |

And yes I reserved his spot soon after my brother gave me my e-ticket number and confirmation code. He's ready to go!! Did I mention I got him a nice warm parka?????? :D |
It really depends on the airline...some airlines require you to have one..and others dont. So id look up the regulations of the specific airline that you are taking! Have a safe trip! :) |

Just to be on the safe side call the airline that you are flying. I thought it was 10 days before a trip but that could be up to each airline. I also think you need the paper with the rabies number on it because you could take anyone tag and say it is yours. I would hate to see your thanksgiving ruined because you couldn't board the flight. |
