Vets and insurance Does anyone have insurance for their dogs? I understand that they do not cover breed specific heredity problems. For those that have insurance what company do you have and what is your opinion on how viable of an investment is it? Thanks |
I have Petplan and yes they cover all that. One of the very few that do! Your 2nd question can be more difficult to answer. I purchased Jemma's insurance about 3 months ago. She was just spayed last week and also had some baby teeth extracted due to not losing them on her own. Petplan does NOT pay for a spay but they pay for the tooth extractions. Depends on what kind of policy you buy with them. Their are different policies that pet plan offers. Good luck! |
There is some good feedback on pet insurance in this thread..... http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...insurance.html |

Hi! I currently have pet insurance with Trupanion! Definitely take a look at their website: Trupanion Pet Insurance | Pet Health Insurance for your Dog or Cat! Their website is really straightforward and easy to read. I haven't had any problems yet with them and I definitely think that pet insurance is a great investment. Since I got to pick out my deductible, it really has fit my budget. Also, I didnt know this before, but with the deductible its per condition so if it happens twice, you only have to pay that deductible once! So good to know! They don't cover pre-existing conditions and they don't necessarily count hereditary and congenital disorders as pre-existing either! Which is really nice. You should give them a call if you have any questions! They helped me when I did! |
