Oh No A Lot Of Accidents!!?? my little boy yogi was started on natures variety raw and he has been not wanting to eat it he has been on this diet for a month so i switched from the venison to the beef. now he has been having lots of accidents i think he cant hold it or it just has to come out i guess. its hard and just a tad watery but he has been having accidents in his crate and on the bedroom floor. has anyone had this problem? what should i do? should i get him off raw? |
How long did you take to switch his diet over to the new one? It maybe that, the change in the diet that is causing this, if it continues maybe have a chat to the vet to see what they think is best. |
sorry i know nothing about raw, i will bump this up for you |
My girl started raw last month. We did the chicken first and now we just started beef this month. She eats fine and goes to the bathroom fine as well. Only one poop per day and it's hard and small. DId you check the expiry date on the bag? |
the expiration date is fine and i switched it in about 3 days because i ran out of his other food. i stared him on the venison so now i try to feed him in the morning but he doesn't want to eat it |
Do you leave kibble out as well? Could your dog just not be hungry if he has kibble or something else to snack on. I know sometimes my girl isn't in the mood. I usually put it in the fridge and try again later. Lately though she eats it all up, some dogs just don't like the raw. I know mine prefer REAL raw then the NV but she does love this stuff too. She hardly ever touches the kibble that is out. Do you break it up for him? Sometimes I have to hand feed  |
i do sometimes feed him with a baby fork haha  then he eats it all. but no i have no kibble out should i leave some out? i want to make the raw fresh but i dont have that much time. i also cut it up for him in tiny bit sizes as well all microwave it for 10 sec (he hates it cold lol) |

Maybe he expects mama to feed with a fork every time! lol They sure are silly that way sometimes. |

Remy's potty habits changed entirely when we converted to NV Raw. Prior to Raw he did not have to go immediately in the morning upon wake up. He would play, use his pee pad (to pee), eat, and we would walk about 2 hours after getting up. He would poop then. With Raw he HAS TO GO immediately when he gets up. Then we are back inside for some playtime and food. After I work out, we go for a long walk (about an hour after he eats) and he goes a 2nd time. I found it was much easier to just modify my schedule to fit his and we are now accident free. Always firm, small poops. Just different frequency. See if there is a pattern to his new habits, you may just need to change your schedule to solve the accident issue. |

do you feed kibble too or just the raw? see his poop looks watery but is firm just a little bit is watery |
Remy refuses kibble, I've tried and lost that battle ;) He has only had the raw medallions, with some cooked carrots and cherrioes as treats Hmm, not sure what to say on the consistency issue. Not be be graphic, but Remy's is formed and pretty solid. Occasionally a little "slimy" when the anal glands express themselves, but I would not describe it as "watery" I feed the lamb. Some people say their dogs won't eat it, it does smell a bit more "gamey" than others, but Remy likes it. I've been avoiding chicken and beef because I suspect an allergy. Have not tried the venison, yet. Want to though. |

Not sure what to suggest....others here have much more experience with Raw than I do I mash up the medallion into little bits, and sometimes warm it 5-10 secs in microwave - not to cook it just to take the chill off Remy has loved Raw from day 1, gobbles it up quickly Is your pup feeling OK otherwise? |
